“ Brand: Asda / Type: Ankle Boots „
Just before Christmas I was shopping in Asda and had a wander around the clothes and shoes in the George department. It was whilst doing so that I came came across these boots and thought they would be ideal to wear to work. I tried them on and they felt comfortable, looked smart and very nearly found their way into my shopping trolley, except common sense prevailed when I looked at the £18 price tag and quickly realised that I really needed all my money for Christmas and it was not exactly the right time to treat myself.
So with great reluctance I returned them to the shelf and forgot all about them. Until a couple of weeks ago when shopping once more in Asda, I saw that these boots were now reduced to half-price...
£9 was too much of a bargain to ignore and I bought a pair, enjoying my smug satisfaction at getting them half-price and very thankful that I had indeed not bought them when they had been £18. After all, there is nothing worse than buying something then seeing it reduced shortly afterwards is there?
These boots are described as Western Style Ankle Boots. They are a pull-on style, with a ruche detail to the front and two side straps with buckle fastenings. The buckle fastenings are adjustable and the material around the top of the boots gathers in, depending on how tight you have the buckle fastenings.
The uppers of the boots are a fabric material which feels quite soft, although the boots are also very sturdy. The pair I bought are a dark charcoal grey, the same as in the photograph here and the material has a slightly mottled effect which doesn't really stand out on the photograph, but I do I think the mottled effect adds to their appeal.
I do find it difficult to walk in very flat shoes, sandals or boots, as after a while the backs of my legs begin to hurt, so I tend to choose footwear with some type of heel, to ensure that I can walk comfortably. I do often have to walk around quite a lot in my job and so comfortable footwear is a must.
I also love wearing boots and own several pairs, however, many of the pairs I wear at home or on nights/days out etc, I would find too uncomfortable to wear for work, as the heels are higher than these featured here. I also have to be careful though, that the heels are not too flat and I did actually make the mistake last year of buying a pair of boots to wear solely for work that had virtually no heel at all. After just one day at work wearing them, my legs were hurting and it seemed to be an effort when walking in them.
These boots however, seemed ideal when I purchased them as although flat, they have a half inch heel. I have worn them every day for work since buying them and have experienced no discomfort whatsoever to either my feet or my legs, no matter how much walking I do during the course of the day.
I am finding these boots really comfortable to wear and whilst they do have a slightly pointed toe, my toes do not feel crushed at all and there is plenty of space inside the boots, so my feet do not feel in anyway cramped. I am a size 4 and find these boots to be true to size and also they do seem quite generous in their width too. They are easy to pull on with the buckles fastened, so there is no need to undo them each time you put them on or take them off.
I am over the moon with my bargain boots and I am sure they will last well. They are well made and of good quality and the combination of sturdiness and soft material ensures a very comfortable boot which I can walk around all day wearing, with no discomfort. Although a casual style, I do think they look smart too.
These are still on sale in Asda today at the bargain price of £9. I was shopping there earlier today and there were still some on the shelves. They are also available to buy at Asda online, where there is a £2.95 delivery charge for delivery within 2-3 working days, but you will also qualify for cashback if you make your purchase via a cashback site such as Topcashback who offer 8.08% cashback for purchases from George at Asda.
There is also a collect-in-store option available online but this only applies to certain stores and you have to spend over £25 to qualify for free delivery to a store for you to collect.
I am really happy with my bargain boots and am happy to recommend them to everyone!
