Cheap and most definitely cheerful wellington boots

Review of George at Asda Zebra Striped Wellies The styling of Wellington boots have come on in leaps and bounds from the plain black or green offerings of a few years ago. Nowadays, wellingtons come in all manner of funky styles, colours and designs. **Asda Zebra Stripe Wellingtons** I purchased a pair of these Zebra wellies from Asda recently; the reason for buying was one of necessity. I was out shopping with my 5 year old granddaughter and being my usual lazy self I hadn't checked what footwear she had on. She was wearing her trusty shocking pink Crocs. These shoes are very comfortable, but as any Croc wearer will concur, these are not really suitable for wearing in heavy rain. We were caught in a torrential downpour; I dashed into my local Asda store and grabbed her a pair of these quirky, but cheap, wellies and some new socks as her were soaked. I paid a minuscule £9 for these boots. The wellingtons are pretty sturdily made, the sole is deeply cleated and on Emma's pair, the sole is a bright pink colour. The main leg part is black and white zebra print and highly glossy. The top of the leg has a pink buckle to tighten or loosen the leg width. I found this pretty ineffectual as Emma has very slim legs and to be honest these wellies in her size literally swamp her legs; still at least there was plenty of room to tuck her jeans into the wellies! Height wise, these wellingtons reach just below Emma's knees, of course the height will depend on your child's leg length. Asda stock these boots in a wide range of sizing from infant's size 10 up to junior size 6. They are made entirely from man-made materials and are easily cleaned with a wash down with soap and water. **My Thoughts and Conclusions** My granddaughter has not worn these in icy weather yet, but for muddy and wet conditions underfoot, the boots have been excellent, providing grip and stability, so I see no reason why they will not perform well in the ice and snow. Most importantly these boots kept her feet warm and dry. The quality is reasonable for the price and the boots are well made. The sizing is generous and I am sure these will outlast the winter! If I were actually looking to buy a pair of wellingtons for my granddaughter I would probably have opted for a pair with a fleecy lining, however as these were, as I have explained an emergency buy, I feel they are absolutely fine and definitely fit for purpose. A great pair of bargain wellies

About three years ago I desperately needed a pair of wellies to go to the park etc. with my daughter.  It was always raining and everywhere was muddy but I could not get a pair of wellies anywhere, despite it being winter time.  After months of looking everywhere, and only seeing super expensive ones at around £60 I was starting to think I would never get a pair, and then one day, by chance we went into a local Asda and there were some wellies, on sale! These are actually children's wellies, they seemed to go up to adult size 6, which is perfect for me.  Infact, the size 6 even comes up a little large so I need to wear an extra thick pair of socks with them.  They aren't my choice of colour, I have to say, I like boring plain things!  However, for £5 in the sale I was prepared to overlook this.   They are zebra print, so black and white stripes with a pink buckle on the sides at the top of the wellies, which is pretend and pink soles.  The pink is hot pink!  The soles are very thick and spongy, thus comfortable to walk on and helps to keep my feet warm too. Last year I left them at my parents by accident and had to get a new pair in a rush when we had snow.  These zebra print ones are still fine and it is actually convenient to have a pair there as they live in the country and always go for walks when we go.  I have been through very muddy fields and streams and come out without wet feet, also they are fairly high wellies and come up about 3/4 way up my calf so useful for country walks. These wellies are really well made. For £5 these were definitely a bargain.  I would therefore definitely recommend them, or I would buy a new pair if we still lived near an Asda.

          I love them :-)

Living in Cornwall, we are never far away from the countryside and beaches and spend a lot of time just walking and exploring. That being said, wellington boots are an essential piece of footwear to stop soggy feet and wet trousers. The most recent wellies I've purchased are these from Asda. I purchased my zebra print wellies from my local Asda store but they can be purchased online too but a delivery charge may apply. The wellies cost me just £9. Zebra print is definitely my favourite animal print so it was inevitable that I would buy these once I had seen them hanging up on display. The wellies definitely don't lack in the print department with it dominating the whole of both wellies. The only thing that breaks up the print is a bright pink decorative buckle on each boot, and both soles being the same pink colour. I actually found these boots in the older girl section in my local store. This means that the range of sizes available to purchase is quite wide starting at size 10 infant and all the way up to size 6 junior. I have size 5 feet and the size 5 in these fit me lovely. My lower legs are definitely not on the thin side and I can sometimes find that wellies are uncomfortable around this part but that isn't the case with these, my lower legs fit in well without any rubbing or discomfort. When wearing these wellies I do tend to wear thicker socks as they are comfier when out on walks this also makes the wellies more comfortable too. When wearing thin socks with these it does feel like your foot rattles around the inside. Of course, when you wear wellies the ground conditions aren't always the best, mud is normally involved. It is paramount that the grip is excellent as I don't fancy slipping and falling face first into the mud. The soles on these are great and have a lot of grip and the grip is quite thick too so it sort of cushions the mud between the grip spikes so when walking over mud isn't uncomfortable. I would definitely recommend these wellies, the design is funky, they are comfortable to wear and grip well when out walking. At £9 they are cheaper than most wellies I've purchased in the past and I think they are worth every penny spent and more, I love them!
