Advantages: Cheap and versatile

Disadvantages: Thin sole, have scuffed around the toes after a couple of months

I've got quite a few pairs of ballerina shoes & I love the design - they're adorable as well as really comfortable and versatile.

Asda isn't one of my favourite shops for clothes and shoes, however when I came across these ballerina shoes a couple of months ago I decided to try them out despite my worries that they wouldn't be very long lasting. I tried them on in the shop before purchasing them and was very impressed with how comfortable they were and I bought a black pair as I find that this is a versatile colour for shoes. I paid £7 for this pair of flats which I think is a bargain but not so cheap that it made me think that they'd fall apart within a few days! The shoes are available for purchase both in-store and online via Asda's website.

The style of these shoes is pretty simple to be honest and due to this they are very versatile. They're flat slip on ballet pumps which are black with a glossy finish. There's a little string bow on the toe area which adds a bit of detail. The shoes have rounded toe areas which I like as I find that the rounded design is neater than the pointed. Although the shoes are flat they have a miniscule raised heel which is no more than a few cm tall. The tiny heel means that these make a kind of clicking noise when I wear them like heels would, which I don't particullary like. The soles of the flats aren't the thickest or sturdiest but they aren't so thin that I am able to feel every crack in the pavement when I'm walking.

The inside of each shoe is quite hard, but if you press down you can feel that it is very (and I mean very) slightly padded. The inside is silver and it has the brand name written in black writing along with the size and a phrase which simply says 'love your shoes'. The shoes obviously show the tops of my feet apart from my toes and they are easy to slip on and off but stay on securely when I am walking. They were a little stiff the first few times that I wore them but they're really comfy now and I have not had any problems with them rubbing against the backs of my ankles which I am actually quite suprised about as I've had this problem with almost all of the other cheap flats that I've owned in the past.

Although these are comfortable and are fine to wear for walking around the supermarket or town etc, I wouldn't wear them if I knew that I was going somewhere that would recquire lots of walking as these have such thin soles and they don't really support my feet or ankles much at all. The shoes are very versatile due to the simple design and basic colour. I usually wear these with jeans or leggings and they look fine - I actually think that they look more expensive than they are and from a distance they could be mistaken for leather - although they obviously aren't. These are made of a soft plasticy type material which is more than likely synthetic - I'm not sure what the material is though.

The shoes are easy to clean with a wet wipe and I have found that they get dirty very easily even if I'm just walking along the pavement. They have also scuffed a little around the toe area but seeing as I've had my pair since May I can't complain too much. The shoes fit well - I have quite wide feet but these adjusted to the shape of my feet well and my feet don't feel squashed, nor does the material rub against my toes/feet. Sizes available are 3-9 and half sizes are available. The shoes are comfortable, easy to slip on and look nice, so I overall reccommend them. They're decent quality and very affordable - 4/5 stars.

Summary: 4/5
