When we lived in Bournemouth, we used to regularly go down to the beach even in the winter when it was cold. It was during these winter months that my daughter's wellies would be out in full force so we ended up buying her a few different pairs (one because there were different character ones she wanted and two because I am a bit odd when things don't match so I wanted colours to match her clothes!). One pair of wellingtons she owned came from ASDA and they were the ASDA brand wellington boots which cost £4.00.
The ASDA wellingtons only came in one design for girls and that was a bright, glittered and glossy pink which you can see in the picture. I have to admit I fell in love with them when I saw them and thought my daughter would look very cute and girly in them. I also thought they were an absolute bargain for £4.00. I also found that the wellies covered an wide range of sizes which were from size 4 to 12.
These wellies were a pretty basic design. There were no pretty patterns or anything on them, just glitter running through them. They were simple but nice. I must admit, I did think the glossy sheen on them gave them a plastic look but there were just for the beach and to add a touch of colour. My daughter loved them too and called them her "Barbie wellies".
These wellies are made of rubber material and you can really smell it. It is such a strong rubber smell and it is such a strong smell that it lingered in my daughter's wardrobe for a good few weeks! Nothing would shift it so I do recommend putting them in a cupboard rather than a wardrobe!
The wellies do not have any soft or fleecy material inside the welly which I found a bit odd and it was something I didn't notice when I purchased them. My daughter didn't like this aspect as the rubber against her sock tended to make her feet sweat even in the cold depths of winter walking on the beach. The lack of material inside of the welly is a bit of a let down but then again for £4.00 I guess you cannot really expect too much. My daughter did notice the effects of the lack of material and complained that they made her feet a bit too hot and wet!
The sole of the welly is nice and sturdy and grips fairly well to the surface. It is a slightly darker pink than the rest of the welly but it is nice and thick as well as flat to the floor.
All in all, these were okay wellies but my daughter grew out of them very quickly so I do suggest purchasing the size up from what your child is normally.
Recommended but a bit of a let down on the fact that the lack of material made my daughter's feet hot and sweaty.
