Asda Woody Wellies
Advantages: cheap and effective
Every toddling child should have a pair of wellies to hand, especially in the winter weather!! I have thrown out many a pair of trainers because of soaking wet toes, so i though that once my son was sturdy enough on his feet i would buy him a pair.
Now those of you that have children will know how quickly thier feet grow as smaller tots, nd i refuse to pay masses of money on lots of shoes when they grow out of them so quickly. I have to say though, that when they first begin to cruise and toddle, it is worth getting their feet measured properly, as quite often our little beauties have wider feet than when they are a little older.
Weelies are those shoes/boots that i dont find ever fit exceedingly well, they can either be a little too hight up the leg, or loose around the ankle which is why i waited until my son was stable on his feet for risk of him toppling over!!
I was wandering wround Asda which i find is very good for clothes for value and quality anyway and picked up a pair of royal blue plain wellies for £4 - bargain i thought. As i continued down the aisle, my son spotted these Woody wellies. At first i was going to walk straight past them, with the thinking that they would be twice the price at least, especially as the world seems to have gone Toy Story mad (Thankyou Toy story 3 - i never run out of gift ideas now!!). My son wanted to have a look, and when i picked them up and noticed the £6 price tag, i straight swapped them for the plain navy ones. - Bargain, and at least i knew i wouldnt have any problems getting him to wear them!!
These are made of the typical 'welly material' and i would suggest going for the same size or even a size down from your childs actual shoe size as they come up on the larger side. They again are blue in colour with the 'woody' motif scattered all over the boot, and full size picture of a very proud looking woody on the outer edge of each boot weraing his cowboy kit strutting it with his hands on his hips!!
There is a good amount of tread on the base, great for mud and snow, and on my sons feet, they are almost knee legnth, so great for tucking trousers in and puddle jumping!!
The inner lining is of a grey - like fabric, not particularly comfortable to be fair, and it does seem to dirty fairly easily, but to be fair once socks are on, and trousers are tucked into them, it doesn't really pose a problem.
These wellies go dog walking, to nursery, to the park, down the beach and for lolling in the garden. Easily sponged down, a perfect addition to my sons ever growing shoe collection!!
5/5 for quality and price!
Great work Asda and Woody of course!
