Asda Woody Wellies
Advantages: Cute, fun and waterproof. Sturdy.
Disadvantages: None in my opinion
I bought these for my youngest son in the autumn as we have such beautiful weather in the UK (Haha) and it seems to rain pretty much all of the time!
I bought them in Asda for the bargain price of £6!
My son is in Nursery class at school and even after it has been raining and the playground is full of puddles the children are still allowed to play outside. At the beginning of the term I didn't really take into consideration that they would be out playing in puddles and on a few occasions, my son has come out of school with soggy shoes and socks!
He already had wellies and when he has them on he pretty much refuses to take them back off! Typical boy! And I really, absolutely hate the plasticky smell of wellies so I had been on the look out for a pair with a more rubbery texture and not so plastic like. On a shopping trip to Asda I popped upstairs to the clothing section as I usually do, and whilst browsing through the kids section I came to the footwear. There hanging on the rail were these fantastic Woody wellies that I knew my son would adore.
I grabbed a pair and rushed off to find my hubby and son who were downstairs looking at the computer games. As soon as my son saw the wellies he practically climbed out of the trolley, sat on the floor, took off his trainers and said 'I love them wellies mammy'!
So he put them on there and then and was so happy that it was raining out so he could give them a try!
After paying for the shopping and giving the cashier the tag from the wellies, I led my son outside, where he proceeded to jump in every puddle he could. What a better way to test them?
Anyway upon getting home, his tootsies were dry and warm and I was very pleased with the £6 spent, and another great thing was that they didn't have the harsh strong plastic smell! Yayy!!
They have had plenty of use throughout the autumn and winter and are worn for wet playtime out the playground in school. He takes them in and changes his shoes when it is time to go out.
Considering the amount of use they have endured they are still in fantastic condition and the soles have held out really well. I'm not really shocked by this however as they look nice and chunky and because they are more rubbery than plastic they seemed to have more sturdiness about them.
Not only are they durable, they look fab! They do look exactly like the picture shown so there's not much point of me going into too much detail. However the Woody picture is simply stuck on and this is quite obvious, not that it takes away from the fabulousness of the wellies in all fairness.
My son has never complained when wearing them so I am guessing they are quite comfortable to wear and they look and feel quite comfy, especially compared to the plastic type wellies.
Overall I am very happy with these and will be keeping a close eye out for more when they come into store ready for next winter! They also held out brilliantly in the snow!
Summary: A great pair of wellies that have lasted so well.
