      Stunning ankle boots from ASOS

It was my birthday last month and in the couple of weeks running up to it, I was starting to get sick of people asking me what I wanted as I didn't really want anything in particular. In the end I decided to be cheeky and just ask for money and as well as this I recieved quite a lot of gift cards. One gift card that I recieved was a £50.00 ASOS gift card, which I was really pleased with.

After spending a good half hour browsing the ASOS website I felt pretty depressed because there was no clothes or make-up on there that I wanted and so I decided to browse the shoe section. I don't often buy shoes from online retailers because I prefer trying them on before making a purchase, however as soon as I saw these I fell head over heels in love and after viewing all the pictures and reading the description I added them to my basket. I did briefly wonder if it was a good idea getting yet another pair of studded boots as I already have three pairs, but the four inch heel made my mind up; studded flat boots are getting quite common now but I've not seen many people in studded, heeled ankle boots and in my mind this made them that bit more unique. These are priced at £70.00 which I think is quite pricey for a pair of boots that will get quite limited use.

I personally only wear these on nights out or when me and my boyfriend are going somewhere special and these are not the kind of shoes that I would wear on a daily basis and get loads of wear out of, which is why I only bought these because I had a gift card - I only paid £20.00 for them which I am glad about because despite how nice they are they're not the comfiest or most versatile shoes! The design of these is really nice and in my opinion they're stunning. Mine are jet black which as far as I know is the only colour available. The material is a beautiful suede type material which I love and the inside of the shoes are a really cosy kind of material with a thick insole - unlike leather these don't need to be broken in.

The metallic golden studs all over them stand out and add lots of glitz and detail to the shoes and they don't look tacky or overlly girly; they actually have quite a cool grungey kind of look to them, especially when I dress them down a little with disco pants rather than a brightly coloured dress. The studs are securely stuck on and they look really cool and eye-catching in my opinion! The boots have a rounded toe with a very slight point which in my opinion makes my feet look a little smaller and 'neater' and they have black zips on the side which blend in with the boot. The zip trail never gets stuck or anything and the zip itself is easy to grip.

The four inch block heel is black and it's not studded. Like the upper part of the shoe, the heels have a suede type feel to them. Personally I'd prefer a plastic heel as the suede is harder to clean but it does look nice so I'm not complaining! Comfort wise, these aren't too uncomfortable but they're not comfortable either. I'm used to heels and I find them easy to walk in, but they're quite narrow so I sometimes feel like my feet are being squashed. They also come at a bit of an awkward length and the upper bit is a little shorter than most part of my other ankle boots and I find that these sometimes rub against the back of my ankle when I'm walking.

I also find that they're quite loose around the front of my ankle as they cling to the back of my ankle, but this doesn't cause too much discomfort - it's just a bit annoying. The plastic sole is reasonably thick and it has a decent grip which is good and I don't feel like I'm about to slip whenever I'm somewhere that has wooden/smooth flooring. Styling these can be a little tricky as they take all of the attention away from basic outfits but with a nice dress they can make the outfit look a little too try hard. I usually wear these with either a bodycon dress or disco pants and a bralet and I find that a lace white dress looks nice with them too for a bit of a style mash-up of girly and grunge.

Sizes available are UK3-8 and I'd recommend getting your usual size. I got mine in my usual size five and they fit like a glove but not uncomfortably so. I have quite wide feet and find them a little narrow, but this won't be an issue for everyone. Overall, I do like these shoes - they're beautiful! But, I wouldn't pay the full price because they're not particularly comfortable and I only get limited wear out of them due to the design. Four out of five stars.
