“ Brand: ASOS / Type: Pumps „
I was addicted to ASOS.com for a few years, trawling through the website every single night and sometimes putting an order in one day and then putting another order in, the same or the next day and paying postage both times (this was the days before free postage was an option).
More recently I have been trying to save money and I feel that the products are not as good as they used to be and the prices have increased a bit so I no longer feel the need to browse the site as often. I probably only visit the site about twice a month now, but I still have a soft spot for it!
~ Princess shoes ~
I spotted these nude princess peep toe shoes on ASOS a while ago and I thought they looked cute, simple and like they would go with everything. I ordered them in a size 4 which is my usual size and found them to be true to size. They cost £25.00 which I think is cheap for what they are. They feel very good quality.
They came well packaged in an ASOS shoe box. The heel is nearly 4 and a half inches, but they don't feel really high as there is a small hidden platform. They don't look really high either so I think a woman in her 50's could pull them off just as a girl in her teens could. They are very versatile.
I mainly wear them on nights out with lighter coloured dresses because, despite owning over 150 pairs of shoes, my shoe collection lacks light coloured pretty shoes and some light floral dresses look odd with a pair of black ones. Although they do go with darker dresses as well, I must admit I rarely wear them with darker clothes. This is because I always have a pair of shoes I'd rather wear than these to go with darker clothing and tend not to go for peep toe shoes as often as you can't wear tights with them.
~ Pain? ~
I have found these shoes easy to walk in and I don't find they rub or hurt or slip off at all. I wouldn't recommend walking too far in them as I imagine after a while they would start to hurt the balls of your feet, but to be fair I have walked across town in them on a night out and had no problems with them.
~ Overall ~
Overall I am really pleased with these shoes. They are comfortable, look and feel good quality. They are very versatile and go with almost any outfit.
I love high heels and I own so many of them, black, white, pink, yellow!, grey, blue..I could go on, shoes were made in heaven and are an essential for any women, they can really make an outfit and make you feel so much more confident whilst wearing them.
My auntie was recently on holiday for 3 weeks, while she was away me and the OH looked after their house and their pet dog, when she came back I found out she had ordered me some of these heels from ASOS! I was so happy when I got them, she chose my style perfectly and they looked like a work of art in the box!
The shoes were created and given inspiration by Cheryl Cole, the shoes do indeed remind me of Cheryl Cole, buying as many magazines as I do their is always pictures of celebrity's and Cheryl Cole will always be in one wearing a pair of heels, many of them peep toe.
The shoe is a very basic style, just a normal plain high heel with a peep toe, although they do look extremely basic, they are amazing and go with everything, there is just something about them, they don't look cheap or tacky, they look expensive and stylish.
The heel on the shoe is quite thin and widens as it gets to the top, it is around 4 inches in height and I find them extremely comfortable to walk in.
They a very light nude colour and smooth to touch, they look so sleek and simple and go with so many things which I have in my wardrobe, you can wear them daily with just jeans or leggings and a simple top, you can dress them up with evening dresses and they would look great for work with your smart dress or your smart trousers!
Are they comfortable? well I have worn mine now a good few times for long periods of times, and I can't say their uncomfortable, they feel great on and the inside feels soft, my feet don't ache after a few hours of being on and when I get home I don't get the urge to kick them of straight away like I do with some heels I already own!
I'm not a fan of showing of my feet, I barely ever wear sandals, but when I first seen these shoes I wasn't scared because the peep toe didn't look big, it looked small and looked like it wouldn't show a lot of toe, when the shoes are on, these barely show any of my toes! Bonus!
When I looked on the site I seen that it said they have a high shine to them, I cant say I found this with my heels, they don't really seem to have that material to them.
After browsing the site and seeing the shoes, I see that the usual price of these are £30.00, now reduced to £18.00! My auntie got a bargain, they are still in perfect condition, the heel isn't wearing down and they are so easy to clean and keep looking new.
They're your typical courts and are pretty simple to be honest. They've got a gorgeously classy look to them and go best with a nice party dress in my opinion! They're an essential in my wardobe. I've also worn them with jeans and they look great, making even the most casual of outfits look smarter. They're good in the sense that they're not over the top or very noticeable, they're just a nice, simple peep toe style court. They give plenty of height, as at 4.12 inches they're a decent size. The heel's quite thin but isn't too thin. Personally i don't like overly tall heels so these are ideal for me and i've found them just the right height, very comfortable and easy to walk in. They're nice and soft and easy to slip on. The material has a slight plasticy feel to it but it doesn't feel cheap or tacky in the slightest nor does it have a plastic smell to it like some shoes do. Asos pride these shoes on bein celebrity worthy and mention several times that the famous Cheryl Cole has a similarly styled pair.
I ordered these from the Asos website and they arrived in a factory sealed bag.
Options and Sizing:
There are 2 colours available, Nude, which is a lovely creamy colour, and black. I prefer the black as i find it matches any outfit, but the nude looks like it could be as equally versatile. The sizes start at a UK 3 and go upto an UK 8.
These aren't the type of shoes to be walking in for long as they put pressure on my upper sole and toes, causing cramps and lack support around my ankles. They're fine if you'll be sitting down the majority of time while wearing them rather than bein on your feet in them throughout the day. Some people who are used to wearing alot of heels may not find this a problem, though! I made the mistake of wearing them to go to Meadowhall and ended up having to take them off because my toes were so sore. I've never gotten any blisters from them though and they let my feet breathe well.
Price and Value:
They're a great value pair of heels as they're currently reduced from £30 to £18 on Asos' website. I'd reccomend them! They're really cute and simple, aswell as bein versatile and comfy (when sitting down!) These are definetly a must have for any heel-loving girl's wardrobe - i'd definetly say give them a go if they sound like your kind of thing.
These ASOS peep toes are not the usual expensive shoes I normally buy. These are basic court peep toes but what makes them different to other peep toes is that they are plain and in a nice neutral nude colour. I really love nude, white and black colours because they will go with virtually any outfit I have.
These are the sort of shoes that can be hidden (ie overlooked) in the presence of a eye catching outfit. They would go well with an outfit that needs to standout and the shoes need to be in the background. They are really versatile and will match virtually all outfits. I say they are more for casual wear as they are very simple but they could be worn in the evening as well.
These are classic courts with a peep toe and a high heel. They have a small platform about 2cm and 4 inch heels. They are made from a synthetic material therefore suitable for vegetarians. The shoes aren't soft but they're not stiff either and I didn't get any blisters or experience any friction with them. I do tend to be quite sensitive to new rigid shoes and I sometimes get really big bloody blisters which is really painful. I found the shoes comfortable and I could easily run errands all day with them on. I may be biased though because I have worn heels for years so I think I have a higher pain threshold.
I have the nude colour peep toes and they are shiny but not really patent whereas the tan and black colour seem to be more of a matt colour but as I haven't seen the other two I don't know of this for sure. The tan colour really doesn't appeal to me and it seems like a horrible colour for this shoe because I associate tan with boots rather than sophisticated court shoes.
ASOS means as seen on screen which basically means that the style of clothes and accessories they sell are based on what celebs have been seen wearing but at a more down to earth price. This particular shoe is inspired by Cheryl Cole and there is a picture of here leaving somewhere with peep toes. They look black with sparkly silver to me but it isn't quite clear in the picture. I have seen however nude peep toes in fashion magazines on other celebs but I cant remember who so I don't think that Cheryl Cole was the best person to choose to advertise the shoes on ASOS. The ones she is wearing in the picture look better in terms of design as the peep toe is nice and smooth and all of her toes aren't showing whereas with these peep toes I find that my feet are more exposed and pushed out. I would have preferred that this was not the case.
They are available through the ASOS site only and they cost me £29 but I did buy them a long time ago (I think spring or autumn last year) and since then the price has been reduced a little to £24. They are very well priced for what you get. They are simple but stylish and a staple so it is unlikely that these will go out of fashion. I have found since last year the heel is giving way and it has become uneven but to be fair these are cheapish shoes and this was bound to happen because of the heel design. For this reason I cannot say the shoes are bad in terms of quality. They can get dirty if I subject them to such conditions but they are easier to clean than textile materials as you can just wipe the dirt. It is advisable to make sure that when they are wiped, to not do so too hard otherwise they can scratch.
I love peep toes, I think it is maybe because they seem a little cheeky with the exposed bit at the front. I have never had any problems with the service or delivery provided by ASOS and would highly recommend these.
Shoes these days can be expensive and often I find myself having the perfect outfit to wear, but with no shoes to match! The problem I usually have is getting a pair of shoes that are the right shade to go with my outfit. So I decided I would find some reasonably priced neutral coloured shoes that I could wear with pretty much any outfit, so that I would no longer have to stress over shoes!
As always ASOS was my first port of call, being my favourite clothing site, but their range of shoes is quite vast so it did take me a while to look through them all to find what I was looking for. I do have to commend ASOS on their search facility though, you can narrow down the criteria of the items you want to view on their site which is very good.
The ASOS PRINCESS Peep Toe Court Shoes are designed in the style of "Cheryl Cole" and the site shows a paparazzi photograph of Cheryl wearing a similar pair of shoes. These shoes are a very simple design and are available in the neutral shades of Black or Nude, which is exactly what I was looking for so I bought a pair in each shade. I didn't expect much "attention" from these shoes with them being so simple, but I was pleasantly surprised by the number of compliments I received on my shoes! It would seem that these shoes are both simple and chic!
The Nude and Black colour is exactly the same shades as shown in the photos on the website, so you know what to expect. The material of the shoes is Leather with a High Shine Finish, if you do get a little muck on them I have found them very easy to wipe down and so as a result mine are still in top condition. The heel height is aproximately 4 inches but I personally found them to be very comfortable and even after a long night of wearing them my feet didn't ache. I think it's because the shape of the shoe doesn't arch your foot too much.
The Peep Toe design is very cute, but most importantly both pairs of my 'Princess' shoes pretty much any outfit which is what I wanted the most, so these shoes have been very good value for money for me. They were originally £30, but they have now been reduced to £24 which is even better, they are well worth the money.
