Avon Toning Flip Flops
Advantages: cheap, stylish comfy, easy to walk on, easy to clean
Disadvantages: takes a bit of getting used too, toe posts are hard
I am a bit of a fitness freak and have a nice collection of home exercise equipment as well as a gym membership but i never have time to go anymore. Ever since mbt and fit flops come out i have been interested and wanting a pair to try but the price tag was a put off. Last year avon did the toning flip flops there own version of the fit flops.
I decided to try the avon toning flip flops because they were so cheap compared to the real things at least i could see if they would tone my legs up. I used to do dancing from age six until i was twenty, after giving up dancing and having my girls my legs have wobbled like jelly and always a problem area on my body that i despise.
Avon toning flip flops cost around £12.99 may 2010.
Toning flip flops come in joint sizing like 3/4 , 5/6 and 7/8 uk. I am a size 5 and opted for the 5/6 and they are a good fit.
The flip flops did not come with and packaging or instructions just put in the normal avon delivery bag a bit disappointing as i hope to read on how to use however no real need because they just go on your feet and off you go.
The toning flip flops have a thick rubber white sole, these are toe post flip flops and are hot pink on the top with a small grey breathable mesh material on the straps. The flip flops are in no way fancy but do look stylish and can be worn with jeans, joggers, and leggings.
The idea of the toning flip flops are that they tone the legs and bum area while walking in the flip flops. Avon toning flip flops also help with posture when walking and take pressure away from hips and knees.
The sole is extra chunky and add an inch in height off coarse that's not the reason the sole is so thick. The heel part is the thickest section of the sole it takes the weight, pressure and relives the joints while walking. Middle section of the sole helps tone and build the mussels up in the calves, thighs and bum. The front of the sole is the thin part but this allows normal movements while walking helps with speed and pace too.
When i first put the avon toning flip flops on i did feel taller in height and quiet unstable when standing, it does take a bit of getting used too because unlike high heels or wedges the extra height is all over the sole.
I did have to wear them around the house for a week whilst braking them in and getting used to them before i braved a longer walk in them.
Its hard not to find these flip flops comfortable because the sole is so cushioned and soft considering its made from rubber but very flexible and soft.
I also had a little issue with the toes post rubbing in-between my big toe so had to wrap a plaster around the toe post part to cushion it but i have this problem with all toe post sandals and flip flops.
I found the flip flops get grubby even the pink straps but i quick scrub in warm water and left to dry does leave them like new again.
I used these toning flip flops all last summer and did see a result in the form that my mussels in my calves and thighs ached but yes they did look more toned. However i had hoped the flip flops would work miracles but like all exercise equipment you have to stick at it day after day to get the results and takes a long time.
I am back in my toning flip flops this year again and everyday when walking the dog as well as the flip flops i use my everlast ankle weights at the same time this has put even more pressure on me and after a three mile walk everyday this month i can see my old legs are nearly back again so i will continue to use them like this.
Avon have brought back the toning flip flops spotted in my avon book last week although they are slightly different to these ones but same design.
I recommend the avon toning flip flops for those that want gentle exercise with gradual toning.
