Well what can i say - these are the best slippers I have ever owned!
I suffer with poor circulation and as a result I very often have cold feet, in the winter it is not unusual for me to be wearing 3 pairs of socks. So warm slippers are a must for me in the winter.
I asked for a new pair of slippers for xmas last year and my mom found these on the internet. I believe they were very reasonably priced, though I don't the exact amount.
The first thing I noticed when i opened them is how wonderfully soft they are and fluffy. They are totally gorgeous and really my style. They are inbetween ankle and mid calf in height which is just nice for wearing under trousers or over leggings/tights.
The bottom seems to be reinforced with and thick around the edges to protect from wear. The soles themself feel thin when you wear them but they are made from sturdy stuff. I have now had these for almost a year, with constant use, I even had them on on days over the summer, and they are not showing any signs of wearing at all which I think is amzing! Usually you have to buy a new pair of slippers every year.
Mine are white in colour and the colour has kept remarkably well. I have only washed them a couple of time and they are still white, not discoloured or grey. They are still really soft and fluffy to almost a year on, not matted fur how some products go.
Mine does differ from the picture above as mine has buttons on the side rather than a zip. As per previous reviews regarding the zip I think the buttons are for decoration only as they are plenty wide enough. THough I suppose you could undo a couple of buttons a roll the slipper down to more ankle height.
The only downside I have found, and this really only applies to a very small unfortunate part of the population. If you are ever unlucky enough that your cat or dog gets fleas then these slippers are very much like animal fur to the and you can often find them hiding in the fur and then of course munching on you. Sorry if I grossed anyone out there but I thought an important point to mention. I washed mine a couple of times to get rid of any that may be in there and then didn't put them back on till I was sure the fleas had gone. Not pleasant picking fleas out your slippers!
I would recommend these slippers to all and I will def get another pair if these ever wear out.
Bedroom Athletics Marilyn Slipper
Since slipper boots have become more and more popular I have always had a pair kicking around. I hate having cold feet and I don't really like wearing shoes around the house. I got these as a present last winter and they have served me well.
These slippers are fluffy and soft and most importantly cosy. These have a zip at the front, which I hardly ever use. I think it is meant for decoration more than anything as these are easy to slip on and off without any help. There is the bedroom athletics logo at the side, a sort of stitched on patch. They are a boot but not one of the taller boot slippers, but despite this they are still cosy.
The soles of these have shown a bit of wear and tear, but when I first got these I wore them all the time and I still wear them (although not as much). However, overall they have lasted well and are still in much better condition than some other less used slippers. I have also put these in the washing machine quite a few times and they have always dried out nicely without any incident. The soles of these are sturdy than most of my other slippers but still soft enough that they feel like slippers rather than outside shoes.
These are available in a range of colours, I own them in a nice light lilac. I have seen these available on Amazon in a nice dark chocolate brown that I might add to my Christmas wish list. Since having a little puppy in the house the lighter coloured slippers have been more and more relegated to the closet.
These are available online or from shops such as John Lewis for around £20. Although they are a tad pricey for slippers they are lovely and you do get a quality product. I got mine as a present and I think these do make fantastic gifts. They look good and they look and feel expensive.
These get a five out of five from me. They are a tad expensive but they made an excellent present and I am already thinking of getting these as a Christmas present for someone else. These are lovely and very girlie slippers that keep my feet toasty warm while looking great in the process.
I kept complaining my feet and hands were always cold, and was soon diagnosed by the doctor as being aenemic.
So my gran, decided I ned a good pair of slipper, to keep my feet toasty warm. So we headed into town.
We had a nosy around John Lewis, and found these little beauties for just under £20. ( I know quite pricey for slippers).
They are fluffy boot style slippers, that stop around the calf area. The have a heart design embroidered into the outer edge, near the top of the leg of the slipper.
They have what appears to be a light coloured sturdy rubber sole, although not to sturdy that they feel like wearing outdoor shoes.
The front leg of the slipper, has a zipper pull, with another rubber heart attached to the end of the zip pull.
They are extremly comfortable, and in these cold winter nights, keep your feet toasty warm.
They come in two shades, the pale pink as shown in the above picture, and a darker pink.
There are three size options available S, M and L.
The sales lady in John Lewis advised me that:
S - covers shoe sizes 3-4
M - covers shoe sizes 5-6
L - covers shoe sizes 7-8
Sizing appears to be accuarate, as the Small fits me like it should since I'm a size four.
These are also available to buy from the bedroom athletics website, if there isn't a John Lewis near where you live.
These are quite pricey for a pair of slippers, but I would definetly recommend them, as they really do the job, that they are designed to do.
