==Clarks Stone Mover Boys Shoes==
Jack has rather wide little feet (cute and chubby just like mine!) and for this reason, most of the time we have to buy his shoes from Clarks. I can't say that I find Clarkes shoes particularly great as they are far more practical than fashionable and on the whole rather expensive.
However I do find you really get what you pay for in terms of quality and longevity of the shoes. These Stone Mover shoes have done us well these last 6 moths or so and it is only now that Jack is growing out of them rather than wearing them out. The shoes themselves cost around the £30 mark and seemed to be the best of the bunch from the shop.
The shoes are brown in colour and seem to go with most of Jacks clothes (other than his tracksuit type clothes) and Jack finds it easy to put the shoes on himself and take them off. They are fastened with one big Velcro strap across the top of the shoe and there is also some elastic under the tongue which helps them fit better. The large rubber sole is made of good material as this lasts well and takes a good scuffing without looking old or tatty.
The shoes have a little digger type of design to them and if you look closely you will see a little machine on each of the fasteners of the shoes. Also on the bottom of the shoe there is a digger design which is done across both soles and this makes it easy to work out which shoes goes on which foot one you have made the picture up correctly.
They seem to be really comfy for Jack and he has never complained about them hurting. Clarks were able to offer this shoe in a large H width (one of the largest they do) and they had the shoe in stock on the day we went into the store.
All in all I can't really fault these little boys shoes. They have lasted us well and although I may not find that that nice to look at, they don't look especially worn considering how much Jack has worn them. They have always cleaned up well too and on the whole I think they deserve a top 5 out of 5 score and a recommendation.
Many thanks for taking the time to read.
I do hope that this has been of some help/interest to you.
My three year old started pre-school this September and needed new shoes. A visit to a Clarks franchise revealed that he is indeed growing up and has now grown out of the 'First Shoes' range. It's official - he's no longer a toddler. Sigh...
Even at kids' shoe specialist, Clarks, we are often limited in terms of what shoes will fit him, as he measures a narrow E width fitting. Fortunately, these attractive brown Stone Mover shoes come in a wide range of sizes from a child's size 7 up to 12 and a half (including half sizes) and in widths E-H. This must be a popular shoe as it accommodates boys' feet regardless of whether they are slim or more chunky! It's very rare that we are actually able to buy a pair of shoes in the exact size and often have to make do with a F width in a slim fitting style of shoe. It's no surprise then that this particular pair are a perfect fit on my son's foot and are easy to take on and off without any difficulty. They don't rub or cause any discomfort either and feel incredibly soft and flexible which is ideal for children's feet as they continue to grow.
I love the style of these shoes too. They are an attractive two-tone brown colour with an almost patchwork style, featuring standard leather as well as suede patches. The tongue is made from blue suede and there are also blue patches on the side and the heel which make this shoe more colourful. They also feature a little motif of a dumper truck on the straps which appeals to little boys. My little boy certainly loves these! The shoes are closed and tightened with a chunky velcro strap which help to ensure these fit properly and cencourages independence as my three year old can easily remove these himself. (Although this can sometimes be a hindrance as much as a help!)
As well as looking fun and stylish, these are a very practical and hard-wearing shoe which is always a bonus for parents. (All the more so as these cost £30 a pair so not something that you want to replace until the kids grow out of them!) I particularly like the rubberised section at the front of the shoe. Like all little boys, mine is very active and loves football, climbing and mud but these shoes are still in great condition despite being worn every day. The rubber prevents any scuffmarks which always make shoes look old and tatty, regardless of how new they might be. Because of the different materials and colours, I'm not sure what would be the best product to clean these with. I have to admit, I haven't cleaned these at all since buying them. Despite that, the only real signs of wear are some discolouration of the light brown suede at the top of the shoe.
These shoes go well with all different types of clothing as they are very versatile. Because they are predominantly brown, they look suitably smart to go with his school uniform but are also casual enough for everyday wear.
I'd certainly recommend this particular pair to parents of pre-school boys as they are so durable, versatile and attractive. They can be bought from Clarks stores and franchises nationwide or ordered online for delivery and fitting instore.
