      A good every day boot

My Clarks collection of boots is quite varied and I try to buy when reduced if at all possible, as I find that as sure as night follows day, Clarks have sales and sales mean reductions. Which in turn mean more boots for me with a smaller spend! The over all feel and look of the Boots I have had is generally very good and while they are not the height of fashion they are in the main a quality product that lasts well.

My Clarks Madison Jack Boots are a product I have suggested here, as I feel they are a handy style of daily wear boot which can suit those moments when you need to be able to move about without fear of tripping over your high heels. They are a nice plain boot that gives a comfy fit that cushions your feet well and ensures you can wear them for many hours without strains or aches.

      **********************************************************
The style of my Clarks Madison Jack Boots is simple and smart and when I was buying these I noticed that they came in both black and brown leather options. I went with just the black, as I had already been a bit naughty and picked out 2 other pairs of boots. The price of these boots is usually £49.99 but when I purchased mine they were reduced to around £34.99 at time due to an in store promotion.

In terms of price verses value and quality I feel that the price I paid was about right, as I don't see these as anything other than casual every day comfy boot, that I can mess about in and not worry about too much. The reason I picked these out was that I had a similar pair, which I wanted to replace and so the Madison Jack Boots were a good compromise for me.

Main buying considerations for me when getting these were that I wanted the slight wedge style heel on my boots, which these do have. I find the wedge heel to be perfect for every day wear. I can drive the car, move about and not feel that my heels will catch or trip me up. As an every day boot, these have performed as I wanted and have taken a bit of a hammering as I have slightly used and abused them during wear.

In spite of this they remain in pretty good condition, they have scuffed a bit at the toe end and you can see flex lines in the leather where they have been worn, but other than that they are in pretty good shape. One thing to point out about this type of boot is that they are not very suitable for re-heeling at the cobblers. This is due to the fact that the wedge heel and the sole are a kind of all in one formation. However my last pair of similar boots went on and on for ages and these have been fine in the time I have had them, so I don't feel that not being able to re-heel them is an issue at all.

The heel on these boots is very small with it being no more than 4.5cms in height. The sole of my boots is flexible and so they are very easy to wear, but the leather uppers have as mentioned earlier lined a bit across the front of the boots, near the middle section, due to this flexibility. My boots have a zip up fastening which works well and I have had no issue with that at all.

The only real hint of any design is a neat but large buckle and leather strap and some nice cut away designs to the leather on the side of the boots, that complete the look of them. Other than that the lines of the boots are very simple and so they can be worn easily without looking too in your face. As I only wear these for every day use in situations where I haven't perhaps taken the best care of these, I feel they have worked very well for me. As such I feel these are a good every day option for times when hight heels would get in the way. Over all I would recommend these and so my Clarks Madison Jack Boots get a 4 star rating.

NB: Much better piccy than the one shown here on the Clarks website
