      Clarks ankle boots

I love Clark's shoes and boots and own numerous lovely pairs! I think they are well made and mostly very comfortable to wear. Clarks also has some excellent sales with up to 75% off, well worth looking out for! Just after Christmas I was looking to replace a pair of Ecco boots that had seen better days. Although there were lots of boots and shoes in the Clarks sale I was (unusually) drawn to pair that were on sale at full price. As soon as I tried on a pair of the oddly named Marg Kate lined boots I knew they would be coming home with me!

Clarks Marg Kate; who thinks up these names, comes in a rich brown or black. I opted for brown as I really liked the rich tones. The boots come above my ankle and have a soft textile white lining. I usually take a size 5, but found these quite narrow and needed a 51/2. It is always best to try on any shoes or boots before you buy as they do vary. The boots have a very low heel and reasonable tread on the rubber sole. The tread is not as good as my Orinoco boots I recently reviewed but it is adequate. The top cap has an extra line of stitching across the top giving the boots a stylish look. The back of the boots have a loop giving them an equestrian look. The laces have a slightly oily feel to them which is a bit odd, but they do feel of good quality.

I have been wearing these boots frequently since just after Christmas and have found them extremely comfortable. The lining makes them warm and cosy although it has started to flatten so is not quite as soft as when they were new. Initially I found these boots a bit on the narrow side, however as the lining has flattened the boots have become wider; worth bearing in mind if you are buying a pair.

I love the look of these boots, especially with jeans or smarter trousers. The low heel is perfect for me as I find high heels really uncomfortable. I paid the full asking price of £69.99 for these boots but having just checked on the Clarks web site I see they are now on offer at £49.99.The boots are available in sizes 4-8 including half sizes. I bought my pair from my local Clarks shop but they are available to order on line with free delivery and free returns. I can highly recommend these boots and am pleased that Dooyoo actioned my suggestion so quickly whilst they are still available!
