      Boots from clarks

I really love Clark's shoes and boots as I think they not only look good but are also well made and comfortable. My favourite of Clark's ankle boots were really showing signs of wear and I was keen to replace them with something similar. I had already spotted a pair of ankle boots in my local Clark's store that I loved although the price of just under £80 had put me off buying! However a few weeks ago I noticed the boots were on promotion with 15% off the price making them £64.99;still a lot of money but I decided to treat myself!

The boots are bizarrely called * Mortimer Liz*;who thinks up these names? They are available in a choice of three colours including black, brown and grey combi. After much deliberation I opted for the grey combi colour as I thought they looked a bit different . Although they are classed as grey the boots,to me, look more like shades of brown! They are available in sizes from 3-8 including half sizes. They are only available in one width fitting; an average size D. I usually take a size 5 and this was the perfect size for me in these boots. Last winter I tried several pairs of Clark's boots and found them to be slightly too narrow. However these fitted perfectly . I love the look of these boots! The brogue look with contrasting stitching gives them a slightly Edwardian look. I think they look great with jeans or leggings and the colour will go with everything I wear. The boots have a slight heel so are not completely flat.

I always ensure any boots or shoes I wear in the winter have decent tread to prevent me from slipping especially when its icy underfoot. The soles on these boots are well ridged giving good grip. They are partly lined inside with synthetic fur and feel really warm and cosy to wear. The tops can be turned back and worn to show the fur lining-looks good over leggings or skinny jeans!

The Italian leather is really soft and I found these boots comfortable to wear without having to *wear them *. They come up to just above my ankle bone and are well padded so don't rub my skinny ankles! The boots have lace fastenings with eyelets at the top. In the past I have had problems with a pair of Clark's boots where the metal eyelet broke away from the boot. This could be a weak area with these boots but so far they look well made!

Overall I am really pleased with my new boots and have already wore them on numerous occasions receiving compliments from friends. They are also really warm and comfortable. I am not great and shoe cleaning, so am pleased to report that so far I have only given my boots a quick wipe! It is recommended you use an appropriate shoe product before you wear. I am far too lazy for that!
