Advantages: Good quality leather uppers
Disadvantages: Sizes and colours can vary
Over the years Clarks shoes have been a staple of the british high street and not only have we bought shoes for our family from them, but we have bought shoes, boots and slippers for ourselves. I have to say that having hunted high and low for a good quality pair of boots for winter to add to my burgeoning collection of footwear, I came across my Clarks Orinoco Club Boots instore.
Having a number of Clarks boots in my wardrobe I have to say that many but not all are very well made and so priced accordingly. These Clarks Orinoco Club Boots can set you back £49.99 either in store or online, but from time to time there are discount codes for use online, special deals and reductions which can bring prices down by between 20% and 50%. I always try to keep an eye on what I want and then wait till prices are reduced to buy, as I feel I can get more for my pennies that way.

Anyhow back to the boots, these were bought as an every day walking and general wear boot. They are a nice low heeled ladies winter boot with a decent amount of tread to them which gives good grip when out in bad weather. They are not to be confused with a proper walking or hiking boot but they do work well on many surfaces such as grass, tarmac, concrete, tiles, laminate, and wood.
These boots will cope perfectly well when worn out and about walking over the odd muddy field, so are a good choice for light/ short country walks etc. Of course anyone hiking or doing any serious waking will need something more suited to the job. I wanted these boots as I thought they would look great when worn with casual clothing such as jeans for daytime wear. I have to say they do look rather good when worn with them, but they could also be worn with other outfits and look just as good.

The material used to make up the boots comprise of a nice supple but strong leather and they come in either tan or black. Both colours are very smart. I went for the black but I can say the tan is rather attractive, although I have found with some of the lighter tan and chocolate leather boots Clarks sell the colours can vary considerably within a set colour tone. In fact when I was trying on these boots for size in both colours to help make up my mind, I did comment on this as the two sizes I tried in the tan colour did vary with one pair being much lighter than the other.
Talking of sizing, I have found that as a the owner of a number of pairs of Clarks Boots they can and do vary in size from style to style. With these Chelsea style boots I needed a half size smaller than my usual size. This is something I have found to be the case with many of the chunkier styles of boots which Clarks sell, but as sizes very often go from size 3 to size 8, with half sizes in between, its often easy enough to find a pair that will fit well.

The style of these boots is casual but smart and so they are easy to wear in many situations. I have found they are fine to wear if your are a driver, as the heel is just the right sort of height so as not to interfere with the foot pedals when breaking or changing gear. They are also just high enough to give you and inch or so extra height (well every little helps) and are not so flat that they cause leg strain and sore feet after a long day wearing them.
The sole of the boots gives plenty of grip and is also nicely flexible so that when walking you don't feel constricted, but do benefit from that flexible cushioned effect that these can give. The boots are easy to pull on and off when needed, as they don't have laces or buckles to faff about with. Over all these are quality boot that can be worn on a daily basis yet still look smart when needed. I have found them easy to clean and very durable when in wear. As far as rating these I have to say they deserve a 5 star rating and I would certainly recommend them.
Summary: A quality boot made for comfort and style
