Hurray! I've just got a free pair of Clark's shoes on my loyalty card. At last! Let me explain further. At our local Clark's shop you are given a card for each child (3 in my case) and after your tenth purchase you receive the 11th free. 10% discount these days on a loyalty card isn't bad in my opinion.
I have always loved Clark's shoes. I was so proud when we had the first fitting, photo and frame done in the shop. A great little reminder to me of how relatively easy life was then.
The personal service in the Clark's shop is second to none. They are attentive, careful and thankfully stick to their guns. When a little darling says they want a pair of shoes and that's usually any pair of shoes, they insist that they don't actually need them, if their feet haven't grown.
The range of styles is sometimes quite limited at 'heavy' times of the year, which are mostly before the start of a new term and I've just had some difficulty buying a 4.5 shoe for my youngest daughter that she would feel comfortable going to high school in. Sometimes the girls designs can be a bit too girly. Bootleg designs, however, for the older kids seem to have more 'kick' to them and offer something that most girls will accept at least. I can't comment on boys shoes as I don't have any male boy relatives strangely enough.
I have always been impressed by the way the assistants won't sell you anything that is unsuitable for your child. I have never been able to walk in and get the same thing for all three of my girls because of the uniquness of their feet. I've had free insoles to help fill really deep shoes and never been pestered with cleaning paraphanalia like you sometimes get in other shops.
I personally buy my summer sandals from Clark's and love their sales. We have a slight seconds department on the first floor of our store, where they stock much more than Clark's own brand. SDo you can have your kids feet measured downstairs and if there's nothing suitable there go look upstairs for a bargain. Good news all round.
Summary: Walks all over the competition
