Advantages: Measures width as well as length, half sizes.

Disadvantages: Quality and price.

I don't buy Clarks shoes for myself as I think they can be a bit plain and dull, maybe ok for the office, but ever since my children were born Clarks have been the only shoes they have worn. Ever since I had my first baby my mother-in-law went on at me how I must get them Clarks shoes as they are the best for little growing feat and now 5 years later I agree with her.

There are three types of shoes you can get for your little one, crawling, cruising and walking. The crawling ones are nice soft shoes and are for when your baby still can't walk. I think the first pair of these I bought were in a size 2 and they were the cutest things I've ever seen.
The cruising shoes are for when your child is walking but not properly, maybe holding on to furniture. Of course the walking ones are just proper shoes as you or I would wear.

When you take your child in their feet will be measured but also the width of their foot. So the shoe size might be 4 but the width will be F or G. they also do half sizes. In my local store once they have measured the feet then they will bring out all the shoes they have in that particular size. You then choose the ones you want and they will then be checked to see if they fit correctly.

The shoes come in very distinctive colours and styles, I think you can spot a child a mile off with a pair of Clarks shoes on. Some of them are not so nice but I think you will always find a pair you like. I always go and buy sandals in the summer as well.

The staff are usually friendly and helpful, when you take your baby in for their first pair of shoes they always take a photo of them in their new shoes which I think is a lovely keepsake.

On the negative side, the shops are always very busy, don't dare go in the school holidays or you will be waiting ages. Also the price of the shoes is very expensive, you're looking at around the £30 mark for a pair of shoes and when you've got three kids like I have you feel like you're always there handing over another £30. Children's feet just grow so quickly!

One more thing I would mention is the quality of the shoes, I find most pairs scuff really easily and no matter what polish you use they still end up looking quite scruffy after just a few weeks, not something you expect from such pricey shoes.

Overall I just can't make up my mind about Clarks, I love the fact that they take such care in measuring their feet, with width measurements and half sizes but I am disappointed by the quality of the shoes and the price.
I will keep shopping there though as I want whats best for my little boys' feet no matter what the cost.

Summary: Would give three and a half stars if I could because four is too high and three is not enough
