Advantages: very hardwearing, measure both length and width of your childs feet

Disadvantages: old fashioned, limited choice. expensive

I must admit i had never been interested in clarkes shoes for my children. I knew that they were suppose to be good for their feet but i just thought as long as i ensure that their shoes are well fitting then whats the point. The Main thing that put me off was the price of the shoes. I like my kids to have different shoes for different outfits and i could not justify paying that amount of money every other week for a pair of shoes for them. Secondly i always thought that clarkes shoes were old fashioned and sometimes quite ugly.
My opinion did change about clarkes shoes however. Last autumn my aunty took my little boy into town. When they came back she told me in an excited tone that she had stumbled across a real bargain. When she produced the clarkes carrier bag i must admit my heart fell as i though oh no these are going to be ugly and i will have to put them on him as not to offend!! But i was more than a little suprised when inside the box was a pair of really trendy brown suede boots. I thought that they were really cool. They had two tones of brown on them tan colour suede on the foot of the boot with a darker leather in both a light tan and dark brown making up the rest of the boot.the straps of the boot are velcro brown in colour with very trendy bright orange stitching. I love the way the straps criss cross across the front of the boot. They are very chunky boots and look really cool. My aunt explained that she had bought the boots in a clarkes sale and they had been reduced to fifeteen pounds. My aunt said he had had his foot measured (he was the size i had been putting him in) but what impressed me was that they also measured the width of his foot. All last autumn and winter he wore these boots as they looked cool with both jeans and cargo trousers. He even wore them to nursery on a few occassions when it was frosty as they have really sturdy grips on them. I could not believe how durable and hardwearing these boots were they were the best boots he has ever had they looked as good the 20th time he wore them as the 1st which for a small child is a miracle and i will certainly be visiting clarkes now to purchase this years winter boots. However i still dont think i would pay the full price for them as i still think it is very expensive for a childs boot. But i will wait with anticipation for the sale and hopefully be lucky again this year!!
