Advantages: No fuss shoe cleaning
Disadvantages: None
SHUMAGIC
Having had three children and the obligatory horribly scuffed school shoes, I always buy a tube of this whenever I buy a new pair of shoes, because it does actually save me lots of shoe cleaning time.
**THE PRODUCT**
The polish comes in a 50ml tube with a screw off lid. Open the lid to reveal the sponge- invaluable because it means that no longer do you have to suffer polish on your hands.
The actual polish is sold in a range of colours (the one I have at the moment is black) and is a non smelly high dye liquid. The liquid is just the right consistency to make it ideal for the task in hand, and is not overly runny.
**HOW TO USE IT**
This really is very simple, and perfect for people who dislike polishing shoes. All you have to do is squeeze the tube and some f the liquid will move down onto the sponge. Then, using the attached sponge, apply the product evenly over the shoes. When it is dry, the shoes can be buffed to a shine.
The instructions suggest that after use, the sponge applicator is rinsed with water and squeezed dry; I assume that this is to ensure the free flow of the polish, but I have never done it, and haven’t had any problems.
The whole process takes a few minutes and practically no effort.
**PRICE AND AVAILABILITY**
I always buy mine from the Clarks shoe shop and it costs £2.50, but at the time of writing this, a lot of the colours have been reducrd to £1
**AVAILABLE COLOURS**
There is a large range of colours including the obvious black and blue. Some of the colours available include ivory, caramel, warm red, beige, cream, and there are lots of shades of brown. Best thing to do if you want the product is to take your shoes along and match them up.
**WHAT I THINK OF IT**
As I said before, I tend to use this all the time, because I don’t lie Little Miss to have scuffed shoes, but if my only option was traditional methods of shoe polishing, she might not have such shiny shoes.
The product is incredibly simple to use and because of the high dye content, scuffs and scrapes are covered leaving shoes if not as good as new at least looking as though they have had a good old polish.
The liquid has no discernible smell, so windows can be left closed when applying, and because it is not too runny there is no risk of squeezing too hard and having polish squirt out of the tube. A quick wipe over with a cloth makes shoes look quite shiny, and scuffs are miraculously removed till the following night.
One tube of the polish lasts me about the length of time of the shoes (about 2 months for school shoes) so it’s not at all cost restrictive. In fact, I find it better value than traditional shoe polish which always seems to sit too long in its tine and crack. Not so with this- it can be used till the last drop. Another advantage is that nothing else is required apart from a soft cloth, so no need for lots of shoe brushes.
All in all, a great product for quick and simple shoe polishing at a good price.
Thanks for reading
