Advantages: works and comes in lots of colours
Disadvantages: none for me
Like most children my 10 year old son is really hard on his shoes. I always buy shoes from Clarks and the last time I bought him a pair of school shoes I was also offered a little tube of a shoe restorer known as shumagic to help restore the shoes by covering any scuffs and scratches. I decided to buy a tube to try to keep his new shoes looking good for longer.
Shumagic comes in a variety of colours made to match Clark's leather colour range. I bought black to match the shoes. The 50 ml tube cost me £3 if I remember correctly. The product is really easy to use and requires little effort. The tube has a screw top lid with sponge applicator on the inside. To use you need to give the tube a gentle squeeze until you see some of the dye appear. Remove any dirt from the shoes and then apply the dye to the damaged area. Leave to dry and them buff to a shine. I tend to use the dye last thing at night and then the shoes are ready to buff in the morning. It really only takes a minute or so apply! The instructions say you should rinse the sponge applicator after use but I have never bothered to do this and have had no problems.
This is an amazing product and really does cover all scratches and scuffs leaving shoes looking like new again. My son's shoes are usually scuffed at the front where he kicks a ball. The shumagic has no problem in covering even quite deep scuff marks. I find using this product a lot quicker than traditional polish that requires taking off and it is also a lot less messy!
I have also used this dye on a handbag that had a few scratches. The result was brilliant-no more scratch marks! I have also bought a tube to cover scratches on a pair of Clarks brown boots I have. It is best to take any shoes you wish to match to a Clarks shop to ensure you buy the correct shade.
The little tube has lasted well as you only need a small amount. My son's shoes tend to last about 4 months and hopefully the tube will last about the same amount of time. Overall I can highly recommend this little tube, well worth the cost!
