Converse All Star Hi
Advantages: comfortable, good grip, versatile
Disadvantages: always rub at first - have to break them in
I am a big converse fan and now that the snow seems to have eased off a bit they are making a lovely comeback on my feet :) I have this All Star Hi top pair in black.
They have a thick rubber sole, which has a lot of grip and is great with the current wet weather we have and so they are really versatile. The upper is made of a canvas material which although reasonably thick and good quality, it means these shoes aren't waterproof. Sadly they also do nothing for keeping the heat in so if you insist on wearing them in winter I always ensure to have on tights and socks.
Nevertheless these Converses are so timeless as I have been rocking them for a good 6 + years now (not the same pair of course!) as they are actually really comfortable, trainer type shoes that can be worn every day and although they look quite sporty they can be mixed and matched to wear with skirts and trousers etc. I wear mine with skinny jeans as they are really versatile and make me look quite trendy when I'm having a busy day running around doing errands. They are laced up so means they can be tightened to comfort to give the shoe more support. Likewise, being a hi-top means this shoe covers my ankles and gives me more support, which is great.
Size wise these are quite accurate as I am a general size 5/EUR 38 and I have this exact size. For the price though, I don't think its reasonable as I have paid double for shoes that didn't last half as long and I had these black high tops for over 3 years.
Another small niggle with converses is that as a brand new pair they rub in my heel something rotten. I overcome this by getting my sister who is 2 shoe sizes larger than me to wear them in for 10 minutes and this makes them a lot better in no time and afterwards they are as comfortable as ever so anyone hoping to buy a pair...so keep in mind that you do have to break them in!
Overall, I would definitely recommend converses as they are comfortable and stylish, pretty cheap and really timeless, so I am sure in years to come I will be still be wearing these!
Summary: hi converses - lovely footwear!
