a good shoe that wears well

Converse are great shoes and the last pair of Ox perforated leather ones I had lasted ages. I really liked mine and I wore them into the ground, but at least they lasted me almost 2 years.

I paid £35.99 for my shoes. I have seen them for much more, perhaps £10 to £15 more which is a lot. I think they are a bargain for anything around the price I paid. Check Amazon thats a good place to get them cheap with plenty to choose from.

My shoes were plain white and I liked them as they looked good in summer time. They had small punched holes all over the leather and that made them look cool. It added more than my plain Converse and I liked that a lot. The Converse logo was on the back rubber bumpers, but it got scuffed up over time.

The leather in my shoes was very good. I did give it a hard time and wore it roughly. The leather did scuff over time but still lasted well.

I think that the fit of the leather ox style is good and it suited my feet. My shoes looked great with casual clothes and summer shorts. I think they could be worn with a smart look maybe.

The laces on my shoes were strong and long enough for me to lace them up easily. My shoes only had 6 holes to lace through, which was good as I didn't need to spend hours getting them on and off. This was easy enough to do.

I liked the chunky rubber bumpers on my shoes as they were wide enough to give the shoes a strong base. They did get dirty over time, but that added to the look of them. They can be wiped if you want to do that and make them look fresher.

The soles are made from patterned rubber, like a waffle that you eat. This stops them slipping and makes them solid and comfortable. I think they can easily be worn all day, well I could do that and I didn't have any problems.

For the money I paid my shoes did well. They are a great shoe, well made, lots of style, very cool and the leather uppers give a good finish to them. I was sad to let my shoes go, but as I wore them a lot they began to come apart at the edges. I would buy them again and I would recommend them as they are a very cool shoe.

      A cool Converse shoe

Converse shoes come in many guises and I have a wide collection of styles and shapes of these shoes produced in both leather and canvas. My leather Converse perforated ox style shoes were a bargain buy from a local sports discount store for £25. They have been in use for more than a year and have not let me down with dodgy stitching or problems with the leather.

They are a simple pure white shoe with a hint of colour in the form of a Barbie pink trim. The laces on my leather shoes are white, which I feel gives them a more finished look and the only hint at any detailing is the pink trim around the edge of the rubber sole with matching toned eyelets. My shoes have a very cool perforated effect to the leather, which takes the form of a series of tiny punched holes all over the uppers.

      **********************************************************
The soles of my shoes are made in the usual waffle style rubberized material that offers plenty of good grip. They are white in this case so can be very prone to getting dirty, which means they need a bit more care than many of the other Converse shoes I have. They can be wiped down with a clean baby wipe if needed, which I find very easy to do. By doing this I manage to keep my shoes looking nice and white and looking good.

I have washed some of my other Converse shoes, but have not done so with these shoes. I have however washed the laces as they did need a bit of a spruce up and these came up looking fresh and clean afterwards. The inside of my shoes has just enough padding where I place my feet and I find them to be very comfortable when in wear. The soles give just the right amount of spongy padding without making you feel that there is too much contouring.

      **********************************************************
One thing I have found with these shoes is that the tongues don't stay in place very well. I have found this to be the case with many of the leather Converse shoes I have had, which is rather a shame and means they need straightening up on and off. Other than that there haven't been any issues with these shoes at all and I have enjoyed owning and wearing them.

On the whole I feel these are a nice shoe, but the fact that the tongue needs adjusting all the time does irritate, so they do have to lose at least 1 star for that. The sizing seems to be slightly different with the leather Converse shoes and these have been true to that, coming up around 1/2 a size bigger than my normal fit in canvas Converse.

      *********************************************************
To give my perforated leather Converse shoes a rating I need to compare and contrast them with my other Converse shoes to reflect on how well they have performed for me. I do like them but I haven't enjoyed wearing them as much as some of my other pairs. I put this down to the fit and issues with the tongues slipping when I wear them. Whilst its not a major inconvenience it is annoying, so with that in mind, these get 4 stars.

        stylish trainer

I have lots of Converse lining my shoe rack including a pair of the Ox's. In what way do they resemble an Ox, I am not sure. This is Converse going against the grain of Converse with a different look and a different feel. Waving goodbye to the canvas material and introducing a succulent and sensual leather feel, with a rubber sole bottom. They can be bought for about thirty pounds online or from all leading shoe stores.

These are a fairly new addition to the Converse market and make a nice change from the canvas Converse, The leather gives you that degree more flexibility in bad weathers and also offers better all round protection from the elements. The leather has a stylish look to it though and doesn't look overly slimy or synthetic which would normally put me off. I think the fact that you have the chunky laces and the rubbery sole working with it means the shoe manages to pull of the right look.

They are comfortable to wear for long periods and have served me well for casual days out and also translate well into an evening shoe. There are sufficient grips on the sole which aid walking and the grips are slightly better than what one might find on a normal canvas Converse. My favourite feature is the tongue effect which gives you that breathable material look and further pushes the boundaries in style, as the leather works with the material.

The shoes are well made and hard wearing and take ages to really wear in, when they do, the first bits to go will usually be the heel or the sole on the ball of the foot, but you would have to some severe damage to get to this stage. A fine addition to the Converse range and a good alternative to the extensive canvas selection.
