I am really starting to love the crocs range of shoes, having two different pairs of crocs myself, especially now that they have branched beyond the original clog look. I don't often look the childrens shoes in TK Maxx but one day when I was browsing with my daughter, I noticed they had a pair of Crocs Jaunt Wellies reduced to £6, as there were a few scuffs on the toes. The pair that I got my daughter were lightpink almost white in colour, but not like that above, there was no picture on the side. In fact there were relatively plain with the well known crocs logo on the side. There is a little hole at the side to allow you to personalise these wellies and add a jibbitz shoe charm. I'm afraid I did not spend the money on buying any charms for my two year old although I don't think these are particularly expensive.
These wellies are moulded and are designed with a 'sporty midsole band'. They are meant to offer more comfort than a basic pair of wellies would and are much less likely to leak.
There are however a few things worth noting. Firstly, my daughter who is very good at getting on her own wellies finds these almost impossible to get on herself. The opening is pretty narrow and if she is wearing tights or leggings then I can get these on easily for her, however, if she is wearing jeans or thicker trousers they do not easily fit inside the wellies meaning you need to be careful with appropriate clothing when wearing these wellies, which is a bit of a nuisance and certainly something that would put me off buying these boots full price. They also don't come up terribly high on my daughter's leg so if there are a lot of muddy puddles these probably aren't going to protect much clothing!
On the bright side, these are very lightweight and so aren't quite a clumpy on my daughter. She is able to move around and run a lot easier than when she is in normal boots and she can tell me that these boots are very comfortable (once I get them on her).
These boots can retail between £15 and £25 which to be honest is not worth it in my opinion especially for younger children whose feet grow so quickly. I only bought these boots because they were on offer otherwise I would not have bought them at the full price. Yes they are lightweight and have a good sole on them, but they are narrow and it is a bit disappointing that you can't tuck certain clothing easily into them. None of my daughter's welly boots have ever leaked, even the cheaper ones and therefore as much as my daughter finds these comfy and easy to move in, I think I will simply purchase the cheaper ones in the future.
