Advantages: Comfort all day long....
Disadvantages: They look really rough......
I have to say these are the ugliest shoes I have ever laid eyes on, and they are made even worse by the cheap knock offs that are being sold at the moment.
Even though I despise these awful creations they are surprisingly very comfortable, and I can see how they are very appealing to medical care professionals, who are constantly on their feet all day and don't seem to mind what they wear on their feet.
CROCS CAYMAN
Crocs started with three men from Colorado, who came up with the idea of these croc Cayman shoes. Originally these were designed as a boating / outdoor shoe range, but they became so popular that in 2003, these croc Cayman shoes hit the fashion industry by storm.
In 2004 the croc company expanded the business to ensure that these crocs could be made and shipped quickly to keep up with the increasing demand.
This designer fashion shoe has become available all over the world and can only be purchased online of at certain shoe retailers across the globe.
The crocs footwear brand prides itself in making these light weight, comfortable, slip resistant and fully functional shoes, at affordable prices.
PRODUCT
These have become increasingly popular as they cater for men, women and children as well as those professionals who are constantly on their feet.
As these are made using a material croslite, the shoes are therefore very soft and remind me of a jelly, even though the material is very soft they are very durable and will not break easily.
The softness of the shoes makes them very comfortable to wear as they don't consist of any hard edges, the foam jelly material moulds to your feet and has an orthopaedic inner sole, which consists of tiny little spikes that are there to support and help sore feet.
The non marking soles are made up of lots of little bobbles, which with pressure sink in to the sole of the shoe and grip well to any surfaces, making it near on impossible to slip over while wearing these shoes.
I really like the fact these have air-ventilation, these are the little holes all around the top of the shoe. These allow your feet to breath and after a long hard day you can slip these off of your feet and they will be odour free.
These crocs can be worn as a flip flop that covers the toes or you can wear them as a sling back as they come with a movable strap which allows them to serve both purposes.
These may not look the most attractive, but they are really comfortable so you can wear then everyday to work or evening walking out in the rain. These shoes can be used for many purposes.
The designers have really thought about these as they make them for everyone and they also cater for every shoe size possible form women, men and children.
If having a major shoe company wasn't enough for crocs, then they have gone one step further and introduced little jibbitz pins to glam up your crocs.
These jibbitz pins are inserted into the air vents on the top of the shoes, and fastened from inside the shoe. The pins are exactly the same as a pin badge, but with a butterfly clip fasten on it.
These little charms come in many different designs and will cost you roughly 1.50 each.
I feel that these little jibbitz badges are aimed at kids because I am not sure any adult will walk around with bright bears and flowers on their shoes.
NEW 2008 DESIGNS
The new crocs for this season are called the Mammoth toasty crocs, these are designed with a sheep skin lining for a warmer but comfy fit.
It is recommended that you order these, half a size larger than your normal size as the sheepskin can make then a smaller fit on your feet and it will take a long while for you to wear them in.
The fur lining is removable and fully washable, so you can have the regular crocs if the weather is rather warm and you don't need to have your feet warmed up with the lining.
They come in various sizes and can be purchase at the crocs website www.crocs.com.
PRICES
The original crocs can be purchased online at http://www.sweetfeetshoes.co.uk for the bargain price of £28.95.
This includes free postage and packaging.
You can also buy these from many high street retailers and these will set you back between £28.00 and £34.00 a pair.
The jibbitz can also be purchased at these same retailers for an additional cost.
If you don't want to part with the money for a pair of these crocs, then you can buy the cheaper knock off crocs for roughly£5.00 a pair, but please beware these are not the same as the original shoes as they are made with a much harder material, so therefore they will not be as comfortable.
You can buy these in every colour possible, with black being the most popular. I have even seen these in neon pink and yellow but I would never be brave enough to wear them out in public.
MY OPINION
I have to admit I hate the way these look and the cheap brands make these also look cheap and tacky, but as I got a pair bought for me last Christmas I decided to give them a go.
To my surprise I really like them, they are so comfy and keep my feet nice and cool, when I wear them it feels like I am walking on air as your feet just sink into them.
I feel I am a bit of a snob as I will only wear these to work and I actually walk to work in another pair of shoes I don't mind flashing off, I even have to wear long baggy trousers when I wear these so they cover the shoes completely and no one knows that I am even wearing them.
But I would be lost without these as they help my poor feet get through a hard day, I thick these would be better if they didn't look so rough.
I just wish that the croc company would design a better looking pair, which the Chinese could not reproduce.
Summary: Great for comfort, but not at all fashionable....
