“ Brand: Dorothy Perkins / Type: Ankle Boots „
I recently had a gift card to spend at Dorothy Perkins courtesy of my daughter who gave me it as part of my birthday present and so I began browsing their website looking for something nice to buy. I spotted these boots and thought they looked ideal for the winter months and to wear for work or day to day casual wear. I must admit I own quite a few pairs of boots as where other people like to buy shoes, it is definitely boots with me! However, most pairs I own are ones I wear to go out in and for special occasions and therefore are not really day to day wear. I didn't really need to buy another pair of boots unless they were going to be suitable to wear day to day and especially to wear to work. It didn't take me long to decide to order a pair of these black fur buckle boots from the Dorothy Perkins website. When the boots arrived, I was quite impressed with the quality. Described as black microsuede boots with PU stripe and petwer buckles, they looked sturdy but stylish. The boots are a pull-on style, with a side strap and buckle fastenings, but also fasten with two popper press studs on either side of the boot, which makes them easy to pull on and off. The tops of the boots from the ankle up are fur lined too, which makes them quite cosy, although the foot part is not fur lined. The uppers of the boots are a suede material and quite strong and sturdy, providing adequate protection for your feet. I do find it difficult to walk in very flat shoes, sandals or boots, as after a while the backs of my legs can often begin to ache considerably, so I tend to choose footwear with some type of heel, to ensure that I can walk comfortably. I do often have to walk around quite a lot in my job and so comfortable footwear is a must. I cannot wear pump-style shoes as they tend to be too flat and so when buying flat boots I also have to ensure they have some sort of heel just to provide a little elevation, which makes a massive difference to me where comfort is concerned. I did actually make the mistake last year of buying a pair of boots to wear solely for work that had virtually no heel at all. After just one day at work wearing them, my calves were aching and it seemed to be an effort when walking in them. This was a mistake I won't be repeating and I am pleased to report that these boots, although flat, have approx a half inch heel. I have worn them quite a number of times for work as well as at home since buying them and have experienced no discomfort whatsoever to either my feet or my legs, no matter how much walking I do during the course of the day. I am finding these boots really comfortable to wear and although I don't have a particularly wide foot they do seem very spacious and so I would imagine they may also be ideal for someone with a wider foot than myself. My toes are certainly not cramped or crushed at all and I can easily wear my socks and still have plenty of room and comfort. I am a size 4 and find these boots to be true to size although generous with the width. I have owned these boots for a few weeks now and worn them nearly every day at some point. I particularly like wearing them to work and find they grip the ice and snow well, as I put this to the test just last week when we had a couple of days of ice and snow. They also kept my feet dry too. They are showing no signs of wear and tear and I am sure they will last well. They are well made and of good quality. The combination of sturdiness, width and fur lining around the upper part ensures a very comfortable boot which I can walk around all day wearing, with no discomfort. Although a casual style, I do think they look pretty smart too. I paid £35 for these boots from Dorothy Perkins online and the only negative I have is nothing to do with the boots themselves, but rather that typically a couple of weeks after purchasing these boots I noticed they had been reduced and they are actually still available now priced at just £24.50, which I think is a great bargain! I was happy enough to pay the full price for them as they are worth the money in my opinion, but it is always nice to get a bargain!
