I'm a big fan of dr martens and have 4 pairs of the lace up boots that i've bought for a reduced price via eBay.
I was searching for some comfy boots that were good for winter as at the time it was badly snowing and i like my feet and legs to be nice and cosey, protected from any snow or wetness.
I wasn't sure what kind of boots i wanted, so simply entered 'dr marten' into the searchbar. When i first saw a picture of these boots on Amazon the first thought that popped into my head was "wellies", as they do look at first sight like your average pair of wellies, especially the Peacock greeny blue colour. I read the description and learnt that the boots were actually high leg leather boots, which are pull-ons. It also stated that the sole is 'air cushioned', providing extra comfort and durability.
I read a brief review that confirmed that the boots were comfortable, and as i already own several dr marten shoes i knew that they'd be good quality so ordered a pair in a browny red colour which including shipping was £86. Other colours available are grey and a greeny blue, which both look equally as nice in the picture as my Tan ones.
They arrived quickly and were definetly better than i expected. They're quite heavy when you pick them up and when wearing them but not too much so and feel really sturdy. I had quite wide feet which runs in my family and sometimes feel like they're bein squashed but these boots have plenty of room and still look really cute.
The sole is thick rubber material and has 'DM' indented into it which i thought was cute! They come just below my knees and are really comfy and easy to walk in, i feel like my ankles etc are well supported when wearing them.
I usually walk my dogs in them as they're waterproof, thick and warm and i can wipe them down quickly and easily if they get muddy.
I've worn them with tight jeans and skirts a number of times and they look slightly like cowboy boots! Really cute, especially with a white tea dress or a floral bodycon. I've had them since November 2010 and they're still good as new, even when they start to wear (which won't be for a while), i think that'll just add to the cute vintage effect.
Reccomended to anyone, whether you want them to go with your indie rock look or simply to use for going out and about they're great for use for whenever, you don't have to freak out about walking through a muddy field in them and they're incredibly versatile. Worth every penny!!
I've always liked Doc Marten boots but fancied something different from the classic lace up style. I saw these boots in Schuh and loved the style. I have wide feet and quite a high instep but these boots fitted really well. They might possibly be on the wider side for some people but are perfect for me. The soles are very 'springy' feeling so they are very comfy to wear. I find that some boots can be too tight round the calves but these have plenty of room.
The boots cost £70 but given the amount of use I have got out of them they have proven to be worth every penny. I can wear them with so much of my wardrobe - they go with skirts, dresses, jeans and leggings. These boots have had quite a test with the very icy and snowy winter that has just passed but they have suffered very little wear and are still going strong. They also do a great job of keeping out the cold and wet so have been my footwear of choice pretty much constantly over the winter months but are also comfortable enough to wear in warmer weather.
These are the best pair of boots that I have owned in quite some time - they are comfortable, I love the look and very well wearing.
A couple of years ago an online official Dr Martens shop has opened and it gave me a good opportunity to expand my shoes collection. I used to live in a city and wear high heels every day but nowadays I live in near the countryside and on most of my days out I must rely on comfortable boots.
One of my favourite out of my 4 pair of comfortable walking & reliable winter boots is the Dr. Martens Elena Boot. I came across them on the official website. Being already familiar with the brand and haw the sizes run I decided to place on order on the Elena Boots. They cost £102 and the come with free postage. I do not think that is a high price for pair of high quality boots at all.
I have been wearing at any occasion I got in cold weather over the past 2 years. I personally like to wear them with skinny jeans as I find that I have enough space inside the calf while they also look well fitted.
Unlike the other Dr martens boots I have I think the Elena are far more comfortable to wear. They did not needed any braking in, they are cut for wider feet or an extra pair of socks.
I own the black ones, but there is available a selection of 3 extra colours: silver, brown and green of more colour adventurous people.
This boots have been particularly useful in the snow and on icy conditions for me, I found them to be slip resistant, reliable but also adaptable in walking in any sort of environment.
Just like with all my other Dr Martens Boots in general this ones have worn out beautifully, and they still look virtually new. I do not think I will be needing a good pair of boots for the next 10 years at this rate.
