Dainty Kainty Shoes perfect for Summer
Member Name: northernlovely
Advantages: Look nice, dressy, very comfortable
Disadvantages: Not for winter use ;)
I wanted a comfortable pair of flats to wear on holiday which were also just a bit dressy so I could get away with them and a dress for dinner in the hotel. My favourite shoe shop is probably Dune, I couldn't find anything I liked in the shop so I ended up buying the Dune Kainty online. I generally only buy shoes online from trusted retailers which I have a few pairs already of so I can be sure of the fit. They arrived in a few days (Dune shoe box in a postage bag) and other than the box having a bash on the corner the shoes were in perfect condition.
The Dune Kainty shoes are almost gladiator style (but not), strappy flats with a heel section and ankle strap. There is a bow on the front which is a metallic chain for a bit of interest. They are dressy more for the colour - a bright silver, which I like to wear on holiday as it goes so well with a tan. The silver colour of the shoe lends itself well to colourful holiday wear - greens and purples, whites and oranges. I paid £39 for mine plus around £4 postage which I think is very fair.
The shoes are very comfortable to wear, I wouldn't wear them as an every day flip flop on holiday as they can't be easily removed and put back on due to the small buckle on the ankle strap but for evening wear (and even travel) they're spot on and I spent a lot of time in them in Lanzarote and still do in the UK summer, though clearly there is no way you can wear them in the UK in February!
The ankle strap is adjustable to four points so it's easy to get a snug fit without fear of losing your shoe and the toe section is well fitted and forgiving without digging into your feet. It's hard to find dressy flat summer shoes but these went down well and I had a lot of compliments on them. They can also look nice for a summer's day in jeans and a nice top, so they are versatile, too, which is what I like in a shoe (weather permitting, that is.)
I have also seen the Dune Kainty in a patent black so they'd be good for anyone who silver isn't their colour, Kainty being the style of shoe rather than the specific colour of the item. Larger Dune shops might have them but I only found these online, though I can recommend the Dune website and the service they deliver.
Overall I do recommend the Dune Kainty shoes, they're smart, dressy and comfortable and very versatile - ideal for holiday or for summer wear, and they're not overpriced, too. Dune fits are excellent, too, I'm a size 7 and they fitted me perfectly (a Primark size 7 would not) so they're worth the tiny bit extra over a budget shoe for the longevity and comfort they provide.
Five stars out of five from me, Dune have delivered yet again with the Dune Kainty range of shoes and their quality means I'm sure to stick with my favourite shoe shop as a first port of call.
Summary: Lovely summer flats with a bit of glam
