The year before last we had horrendous snow which ended up in lots of my shoes being ruined, not to mention cold feet! I knew I should invest in some wellies but I wasn't sure where to start. Part of me wanted to invest in a pair of Hunter wellies, however I felt that I probably wouldn't get enough wear from them to justify the price. On the other hand I had looked at some dirt cheap pairs in the supermarket, but worried that they wouldn't last. After searching online I came across the easy wellies website and decided that I would take a chance on buying a pair.
There are various colours and designs of easy wellies, but the style is always the same. I went for a plain dark purple (plum) coloured pair. When they arrived the first thing I was relieved to see was that the quality is really good. I am always a bit wary when buying online, but I could tell just from looking that these weren't going to fall apart after five minutes.
The boots are 100% rubber and are lined with a soft fabric which is stamped with the easy wellies logo. Like Hunter wellies they come with an adjustable strap on the outside which allows a bit more room if you have wide calves. There is actually a chart on the website which tells you the circumference of the calves for each size boot which is useful if that is something you're worried about.
I was surprised just how comfortable these wellies are, I had feared they might rub since they are made of stiff rubber, but they're so soft inside, my feet have been fine. I actually bought welly socks to go with these, however I've never actually used them, I just put the boots on with my normal socks and this is comfortable enough for me. On the occasions I have worn these I've done a fair bit of walking and my feet haven't suffered in any way.
We didn't actually get as much snow as I was expecting last year, so I didn't get to use these as much as I had expected, but they did come in handy with the recent flooding we have had here. The textured sole and small heel on the back mean they have excellent grip and my feet always stay lovely and dry when I'm wearing them.
Being rubber they are really easy to clean and any muddy splashes or other mess just washes off.
The boots cost £35 and can be purchased from www.easy-wellies.co.uk. I may be wrong but I think these are only available online - I certainly have never noticed them in the shops. They come in sizes 3-9, I am a size 5 and I find the sizing to be very accurate.
Overall I'm very pleased with these wellies. They are very sturdy and good quality, super comfortable to wear and look like they will last for years. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend these, I think they were one of my best bargains of last year.
Just as the bad weather was setting in my old faithful wellies after many years service finally gave up on me and had to be replaced. Due to the sudden extreme winter we experienced here in the North I found it really difficult to find any wellies in the shops let alone wellies in a style I liked. For this reason I had to turn to the internet, during my search I came across Easy Wellies.
Easy Wellies are high quality Wellington boots that come in a variety of bright funky colours in both stripe and spot designs. The wellies are available at www.easy-wellies.co.uk and are currently priced at £29.99 plus delivery charges. The delivery charges are currently £4.95 for standard delivery and £5.95 for next day delivery.
The wellies are available in sizes 3 to 9 (no half sizes) and have the following features;
- adjustable gusset
- rubber outer
- soft cotton lining
- removable cushioned insole
- reinforced heal and toe shank
- a cleated sole and heal
I was slightly dubious ordering online as I had not actually seen these wellies before. Although they looked good on the web page I really didn't know what they would be like when they arrived. When the wellies did arrive only 3 days later I was extremely pleased with them. They are made of a nice thick rubber, have a nice soft lining and insole, nice chunky cleated grips on sole and heal and looked and felt of good quality.
The wellies are really comfortable to wear, they are quite wide fitting and not at all tight on your legs, they have a quite large gusset on the top of the leg and easy expand to accommodate the larger leg and have plenty of room for nice thick socks or wellie warmers.
With all the nasty weather we have had this winter my wellies have been well and truly tested and have stood up extremely well. I have plodged through snow and mud, splodged through puddles, walked for miles and they have never let me down. They have been extremely comfortable from day one and I have had no problems with slips on ice or mud as the grips on these wellies are excellent. After 2 months of almost daily use my wellies are showing no signs of wear and tear and I expect them to last me for a good few years.
I highly recommend these wellies - they are a quality wellie at a very reasonable price, and with all the bright funky colours available they certainly get you noticed.
