Autumn is my favourite season and I am also a bit of a Boot obsessive, so when Autumn comes around I get very excited about the fact that I can put away my sandals and summer shoes and start wearing my boots. Last year I purchased a pair of Stinger Hi Boots, in Black at a shoe shop near where I work in the sale, they cost me £90, which is not cheap but they are great and will last ages. They currently retail on Amazon for £150 and come in a range of colours for all tastes, Berry, Charcoal (will be my next purchase), Chestnut, Chocolate, Cobalt Blue, Purple, Rose and Mushroom.
The Emu Hi Stingers are made with Australian sheepskin that is water resistant. The boot sits at calf height and has a fluffy sheepskin inner and a removable anatomically correct sheepskin insole, that means the boots are super comfortable and keep my feet warm and cosy without making then sweaty and horrible. I find that the boots come quite big and I bought a size 5, though I am usually a size 6 and they have slackened off a little bit, but still remain comfortable.
The boot as a whole has a moulded suede leather heel cup that supports my foot and has not gone out of shape, like other similar style boots can do and they have a durable rubber sole, that offers fairly good grip in most conditions. I have worn my boots in deep snow and my feet remained dry and warm and I have not slipped over on icy pavements when wearing them.
The upright of the boot has double stitched seams which proved strength to the boots structure and I find that they have maintained there overall shape very well. On the heel of the boot is a brown Emu label, on the rubbers soles of the boots is the Emu logo and this also runs around the trimming on the top of the boot.
Overall I would recommend Emu Stinger Hi Boots to others, as they are durable, comfortable, hold their shape well and look great, the only downside is that they are expensive.

The ultimate snug fest! I have had these in chocolate and sand and have also had Uggs.
They are made of sheepskin so are very snuggly and warm in winter. They also keep your feet cool in hot weather too, I wasn't convinced but unintentionally discovered this when I wore them to Italy in April and it was boiling! I also discovered that they feel amazing on bare skin!
I bought a protector spray which makes them a bit more water resistant and as they are so thick they usually keep the water out unless it is a complete downpour.
The biggest benefit they have over Uggs is that they have a layer of plastic over the foam which prevents them getting worn down at the heel, which makes them last a lot longer and stay in better condition.
I bought them both for £130 each and so they are cheaper than Uggs too.
Definitely recommended, I will not be buying Uggs again.
I got these boots for Christmas 2010 after wanting some for ages but not being able to bring myself to pay £150 for some boots...I let my wonderful grandparents do that for me!
These boots are amazing. For the last 3 months I have worn them almost every day. They are sheepskin lined so they are incredibly comfortable and warm. They are the ideal boots for the winter months. I wore them on a skiing holiday and they kept my feet lovely and warm.
The neutral colour means they match most outfits.
Because these boots have a proper reinforced heel and good sole, they don't cause the problems with your feet that cheaper versions can. I can walk a good distance in them (shopping all day..) and have no pain.
After a couple of weeks of owning these boots the Emu label on the left boot became unstitched, but that is easily rectified with a bit of sewing. Over time they tend to get quite grubby. You will need a good suede cleaner, but I have found that even though this helps it wont clean the boots perfectly. They aren't hard-wearing boots, and even though you might want to wear them ALL the time, try to avoid heavy rain as you can get water marks.
Despite my criticisms, I have given these boots 5 stars because they are so comfortable and I am completely in love with mine!
I would recommend these boots to anyone looking for something comfy and stylish to wear all winter long.
Being a big fan of uggs and all sorts of ugg type boots for winter, I decided to invest in the Emu hi boots. I admit, I have a huge collection of different uggs in my shoe cabinet - black uggs, beige uggs, all sorts! The problem I had with my previous uggs is that they tend to lose shape over time and eventually look utterly stupid if you walk along wearing lop-sided uggs.
I heard that these Emu boots kept their shape well, I didn't entirely believe this until my friend purchased a pair from Amazon and kept wearing them, as well as looking nice she told me that they hadn't lost a single bit of shape since she had purchased them!
When looking to purchase my first pair of Emu boots, I found that they can be purchased in a number of colours which was handy because I always change my preference in shoes! These boots are made of 100% sheepskin meaning that they are a pleasure to wear, as well as this - you can fold the top of the boot over to show some of the inner sheepskin, or you can just fold it back up and wear the boot normally. I find this feature extremely useful if you are trying to make your outfit look different each time you wear the boots.
I would recommend using a protector spray on the boot, this is because they are made of sheepskin and are expensive so, to prevent any damage and to help them last as long as possible - i would recommend spraying the boot.
I would definitely recommend purchasing these boots instead of purchasing uggs or those cheap boots from the shops, this is because uggs are expensive for what they are - if you are just purchasing uggs for the label then hey, go ahead but if you are looking for good quality boots that last a long time then I would direct you to purchase the Emu boots. Not only that but the price tag for them has fallen recently so buy them now, ready for next winter!
I have given these boots 5 stars as they are the most durable pair of shoes / boots that I have ever owned and as well as being durable, they are also extremely stylish and trendy - if you are fashion concious, I would definitley recommend purchasing these boots!
I bought these in December, I had a few cheap pairs from various places and while they were ok, I didnt feel they were that warm and when I went to rugby matches my feet would get cold.
So having heard from a mate these were the "new" huggs and cheaper I thought ok, lets invest.
Well I put them on and the ultimate test, rugby here I come. I must admit my feet were kept warmer than cheaper boots. I didnt feel the cold at all, I was concerned about the fact that with my old boots they were getting a bit pongy because my feet sweat terribly, how I dont know as they always feel cold to me. But these are made from sheepskin and my feet dont tend to sweat so much, I have read somewhere that other boots are made from acyylic and make your feet sweat.
I think these are more fetching in appearence as a lot of the competitors boots make your feet look like you have bear feet. These are more perfectly designed to your feet.
I also noticed that the heel doesnt tread down at the back as well and they tend to keep there shape around the ankle better. The sole doesnt tend to wear down as much either
To anyone purchasing these, do get the boot protector spray and give them two coatings, it does work and the price compared to the boots is peanuts compared to the protection you get.
I will be investing in another pair , for my daughter, yes they are expensive but they wear better and look new longer.
Last year I wanted a pair of Uggs to walk my children to school.
Unfortunately I could not afford the £150 they cost.
So my search began........
These type of boots range from the very cheap to the Uggs.
I wanted them to last so didnt choose a very cheap brand.
*THE WOOL LINED BOOT*
These suede wool lined boots are mainly made of natural products. They pride themselves on being exceptionally kind to feet and warm. They come in short, ankle length or longer calf length. They are usually pull on in style but can come with ties on the sides too. They are flat and are designed for walking. They have good grips on the bottom and a sturdy sole. Usually you tuck in your trousers or jeans and they also look quite trendy with skirts. They come in a range of colours from black, cream, brown and grey.
Are a reputable brand of the above boot. They are an Australian company that can easily be purchased online from companies such as Amazon. They are not as expensive as the UGG boot but range from around £60-90 depending on the colour or style. I got mine reduced from £80 to £50 on Amazon last year.
On receiving my Emu boots they were well packaged in a sturdy and attractive box surrounded in tissue paper with a well written care guide.
On trying them on for the first time I was amazed just how well fitting and comfortable they are even for people like me who have slightly larger than average calves.
First walk to school was great. The boots kept my feet comfortable and extremely warm in the cold weather.
Do they last?
Yes they do. I have worn mine almost on a daily basis for six months out of the last year. The soles are still in excellent condition.
Try not to get them wet......... for some reason when you get them wet and they dry they leave a watermark white stain on the suede!
Great boots, great price x
