Advantages: feminine and pretty

Disadvantages: not very comfortable

When it comes to shoes I go for comfort above fashion everytime, it is far more important that I can walk than whether I follow the latest trends. I tend to wear a lot of boots and walking shoes everyday so it is nice to have something a bit more dressy for evenings out. Evans is one of the few places where I can find shoes that fit me since I have size 8/9 feet and it is hard to find anything feminine and comfortable in this size so I was delighted to pick up the gold ballerina pumps for around £20.

These are basic slip on ballet pumps with a little bit of sparkle to make them more suitable for evening wear. They are true to size, the size 8 fitted me nicely. They are totally flat, a very slight heel would have been more comfortable to walk around in but the rounded toe means I don't have to try and squeeze my toes into a small space.

They are reasonably comfortable shoes, they have a very thin sole with tiny grips on it. There is no padding inside the shoes which would have been nice to cushion the step a bit when walking but I suppose you can always stick an insole into them. The edges of the shoes are slightly cushioned which means no rubbing on the sides of my feet. The man made material is fairly still and not as flexible as leather. The shoes provide very little support for the foot and do gape a bit at the sides when I walk about.

These are shoes which I have worn to parties a few times and are comfortable enough to walk about and dance in for a few hours but I would not consider them comfortable enough to wear all day or for walking about a lot, in fact they are a nightmare for walking over the cobbled streets of Edinburgh in the early hours once I have had a couple of shandies!

The shoes are well made, the stitching is all strong and the inside of the shoe is nice and smooth. They look as good as new after a few wears and I'm sure they will last a lot longer.

Evans also do a cushioned ballerina pump which is a lot more comfortable and I prefer over the standard gold pumps. I am giving them 3 stars for looking feminine and pretty but knocking the other two stars off because they could be a lot more comfortable.
