A bargain buy which is reflected in the over all quality of the product

These Fred and Florence animal print wedge shoes were a cheapo bargain buy from Tescos recently. I saw them when popping in to get some bread along with lots and I do mean lots of other reduced priced shoes for women and children. As they were priced at just £2.50 I thought they would be great for occasional wear and so I snapped them up.

As far as I know these shoes are still on sale in Tescos for the same bargain price as I have spotted them since my purchase and whilst they are a bit cheap in terms of their quality and appearance, I feel they are great value for money for the price I paid. The materials used to make these shoes don't give off an expensive look or feel to the shoes, but at such an amazingly low price, who cares.

      *********************************************************
These animal print shoes stood out for me mostly based on price and because they were hanging on the end of a display aisle saying 'oh look I am only £2.50, buy me!' I have to say they were a complete impulse buy. Having said that I do think these are fine for casual day time wear with jeans or a summer skirt and so I have no problems with them being a bit more cheap and cheerful than many of my other shoes.

They are made from a printed effect canvass material, which is in a kind of leopard or cheetah style pattern. The colours used are bold in many ways yet over all they manage somehow to give a muted look to the shoes. The sandy gold toned main colour of the canvas has black and deep honey brown highlights that mimic animal fur and the over all effect is one that doesn't want to sit quietly in the corner, yet is attractive to look at.

      *********************************************************
The sling back strap on the heel area of these shoes is slim yet seems sturdy enough for light wear. There is a buckle on one side which can be used to alter the fit if needed and I feel this is a very useful addition to the shoes. The animal print pattern is carried forwards onto the base of the toe section of the shoes, so that when you slip them on the pattern matches that of the exterior of the shoes if any is still showing.

The design of these shoes is complimented by a rather rustic (well actually very rustic) rope effect detailing all the way around the top section of the heel and front toe area. On my shoes this had already become a bit more rustic than intended prior to my purchase, as the plaited detailing was showing signs of fuzziness. Normally this would have put me off buying, but at £2.50 per pair or £1.25 per foot, it somehow didn't bother me.

      *********************************************************
The style of these shoes has a simple thick wedge design to the heel and the toe area and although these look rather high in reality they really are not too bad at all. I feel thats due to them having a good inch of wedge at the front of the shoe, which balances out the height of the heel. As with any wedge style shoe of this type, they did take a short while to get used to.

I have had some rubbing on the toe section of the shoes which is a shame. I hope this will be resolved in time with a bit more wearing in, although with the weather changing they may not get much more wear till next year. As these shoes do have the look and feel of a budget buy product, I don't feel they ought to get a fantastic product rating. As a bargain buy for occasional wear they are fine. At £2.50 they offer good value and so they get a cheap and cheerful 3 star rating.
