F&F Jewelled Strappy Sandals
Advantages: Look great, much more comfortable than they look, nice studded rock chick look
I originally bought these as I had a F&F voucher which needed spending, at the time there wasn't much in the way of shoes in Tesco and these were for a party I was due to attend. With the voucher they ended up free, so it didn't matter too much that I didn't like them particularly at the time of purchase as I was at least confident they would match my dress perfectly.
They're quite a garish pair of sandals, the thick straps and heavy stud detail give them a punk appearance but it really all is a lot more nicely done than it appears from the photo above.
They are made up of a man-made suede type material, all straps are completely covered so the soft fabric is next to the skin of your foot rather than the covering not meeting in the centre and then you having a lot of rough edges to contend with. The colour is a little deeper than it appears either above or on the Tesco website, it's a pale fleshy shade but there's more of a brown tone which looks great on tanned legs with a nice bright nail polish.
The thing I love the most about these shoes is how comfortable they are. The high-ish 4in heel is thick and chunky so it feels lower and easier to walk in than the height would make you think, the small platform at the front of the shoe also balances the height nicely to leave your foot with much less of a slope which makes them very comfortable to wear.
The insole is padded well, there's a sparkly silver section to the insole which is soft and cushioned. This not only helps my feet stay in a comfortable position inside the sandal, but also provides support to my arches and makes the shoes so much more comfortable than they look. Whenever I've worn then people have commented on how uncomfortable they look, which works in my favour sometimes as it saves a girl ever having to go to the bar for herself!
When I first bought these I was worried about the larger square studs, they just don't look very well attached. Don't let that put you off though as a quick tug on each of them has proved that they are fitted fine and I doubt you'll have trouble with them dropping off. I actually have had one of the smaller studs come off, but that was my fault for getting rat arsed and falling over on the side of my foot. Nearly ended up with a bust ankle that night so a lost stud didn't stress me out too much!
These sandals have grown on me, I thought they were nice enough when I bought them but over the months I've worn them more and more. Since becoming pregnant I've mainly been wearing flat shoes but sometimes heels are called for, the thick heel on these strappy sandals means they are comfortable enough to walk in even now that I can't even see my shoes past my growing stomach! I still let people think they are uncomfortable though.
£20 from Tesco stores.
Summary: Unusual design but extremely comfortable
