I couldn't give any less than 5 stars as I am so happy with these shoes

I get sent the M and M Direct catalogue on a monthly basis and was browsing through the pages and set my sights on these Firetrap Jealousy sandals. This was shortly before my holidays and I knew they'd be a perfect pair of sandals to take with me for both day and night wear as well as looking very stylish at the same time.

The 'gladiator' sandal style has been a popular trend for the past few summers with a huge amount of choice and styles available. I have had a few pairs of unusual and 'look at me' ones, but really have been looking for a pair that you could put with anything and these were exactly that. Made by Firetrap I hoped them to be of a good qualtity and durable and so far they have been excellent value for money.

The sandals have a leather look about them, but are not, unfortunately made of real leather. The colour of the sandals is predominantly matt black with a slightly 'aged' or worn look to them without looking tattered. The strap material on the sandals is a synthetic leather and is very comfortable. I have walked for miles around Croatia in these and can vouch for their comfort, with absolutely no problems with any areas of my feet being blistered or becoming sore from walking in these like so many fashionista sandal can do! So I can definitely recommend these for both comfort and style.

The sandal design itself is subtle, yet makes a statement, they are quite a noticeable and an unusual design. The base of the shoe is a tanned brown colour and quite a thin man-made sole. Although this is thin there are no problems walking over uneven roads or stony surfaces, you cannot feel any discomfort through the sole of the sandal. The gladiator design is comprised of bold buckles on the straps holding the show onto your foot. There is one strap on your foot area, going across the feet just above where your toes start, I found the positioning of the strap quite odd at first being so low on the foot, but soon became used to it. The strap is about 1 inch thick with another strap on the top of this that has the buckle fastening attached. The buckle is a matt silver colour that stand out against the black leather look.

The back of the shoe has three more of these strap and buckles around the ankle area, going up the leg about 10 inches. Fortunately you do not have to undo the straps each time you put these sandals on and off, on the back of the shoe is a zip which both holds the straps up and supports them as well as being an easy way to remove the shoes. All of the strap buckles are fully functional and can be adjusted for comfort to suit your ankle/foot size. I find this great for when I wear jeans as the straps can be put on over the top of the trousers with ease.

I paid £19.99 from MandM Direct for these Firetrap sandals, they were originally £44.99 which I think is a bargain for the style and quality I have got. They are also available in Brown and Denim styles which I may look into purchasing after the next pay day.
