Advantages: your friends will be jealous that you got a pair
Disadvantages: your feet will have awful marks on them and hurt
I paid about 75 dollars for mine on Ebay, which is 30 dollars more than they sell for in the stores here--if you can find them in stock.
They are attractive, but painful. The strap across the front is so tight that I can barely get my foot in the shoe, and I bought a 1/2 size larger than I normally wear! I'm glad I didn't go a half size smaller like the fitflop website advises. I've been walking in pain now for days, still trying to give them a chance.
The website also states that American's have lower arches, and should have no problem with these shoes. I must be the exception to the rule. I read one woman's blog stating that she got them wet and now the strap was far too loose. I'm considering soaking mine to get them to a more comfortable state.
College students wear flip flops all year long, even when it's freezing with snow on the ground, so I suppose we can walk around carefree with cold toes, and a tone butt, when the air gets frigid, as well.
I'm not use to wearing flip-flops, and thought that the piece between the toes would hurt and rub--but because the strap is so tight, that part is not even near the inbetween part. AND when I walk the thong part, that's suppose to separate your toes pinches my big toe and the next one, with every step...because when you step you press the foam sole down, and your skin gets caught when it rises back up when you lift your weight off of it. I think I should resell these to some sucker!
And just so you all can have a good laugh--sometimes they fly off my foot when I'm walking. The exercise is achieved when you run after your shoes, or by trying hard with your toes to keep them on your feet.
Summary: If you have the money to burn, then go ahead and splurge

- 30/07/07 Sounds like tales of a fashion victim. Fancy paying over the odds for something that doesn't even fit. |
