Boots, boots, boots! I have been searching for ages for a good pair of boots and found some that I loved in All Saints. Unfortunately I did not love the price tag and had to put them back on the shelf at nearly 200 pounds. I had the design planted firmly in my head though; I wanted some military-esque boots for the winter. I found these Fly ones on eBay and although reluctant to buy shoes on that I can't try on, for the price I decided to risk it and buy them anyway. Luckily there were exactly what I wanted and thanks to the eBay discount store I found what I wanted much cheaper than in the shops.

The cost of the boots should be £80 but I bought them for £70 online which is a good saving and much cheaper than the pair I had seen originally.
The boots are made from a soft leather with a good solid rubber sole printed with Fly London on the sole. The boots are brown which is a good dark mocha shade and the leather is soft and supple. They have laces which go form the top to bottom but they do not really need to be used as there is a zip at the side which fastens them. This feels a tad flimsy but it is holding up so far, although I do feel that I treat it quite carefully as it just seems like if anything would go on the boots it would be the zip.
On the opposite side of the zip are two large buckles which again are more for fashion design than functionality. They give the boots a biker feel which is just the sort of image I want so I l really love this touch.
The boots are waterproof which is great but they are not very warm, you feel the cold really bad in these and I certainly would not venture out in the snow in them. I have been wearing two pairs of socks, one of them ski socks which does help keep my feet warm but this extra layer is putting stress on the zip. The boots feel much tigher but it is better than having cold feet. The good thing about the boots though is that they are the perfect height, they just come up my calves which makes them great for wearing with a dress and tights. My favourite way to wear them though is to have my jeans tucked into them and rocking the biker look. They look very attractive and good quality and thy pushed the All Saints ones right out of my mind.
Today was a dress down day at work and I wore them to work. The paths walking to the office were so treacherous that I realised that the grip on the boots is quite deceiving, I was slipping all over the place and nearly landed on my bum! These are good fashion boots but they are not great for the winter weather, for this I have to give them 4 stars.
