      Advantages

      Disadvantages

Good comfortable shoes that are perfect for work but not all that high in the style steaks.

I bought these boots for me to wear at work. I am on my feet all day for up to twelve hours so comfortable shoes are essential to me and I thought these would be perfect - here is how I got on.

Ok I admit these are not exactly pretty, in fact they are pretty much at the bottom of the style barometer but underneath their plain and ugly surface lies all the comfort of a super soft ball of cotton wool.

The sole has an extra cushioned insole which makes it really comfortable and provides a little bounce when you walk. Another plus point on the comfort stakes is that the sock is also lightly cushioned so they are comfy all around the foot and ankle and not just the sole like a lot of 'comfort' shoes.

They are not made from leather but a polyurethane substitute and to be honest they do not look like they are made from real leather either. Having said that they have been hard wearing and have not peeled or cracked like some fake leather shoes do.
They also haven't had much 'give' so I would say that if they don't fit fairly comfortably on first try they are unlikely to gain much comfort with wear.

They have a rubber sole which is solid all the way through, this is really important for me to have a solid sole as I have a really forceful step and have lost count of the shoes and boots I broken the sole of because they are hollow or air filled.
The sole has worn well over the last year, although they are just starting to show signs of wear with a few small hairline cracks appearing on the bottom. Considering I have worn them for twelve hours a day, three times a week, for a year isn't too bad going for the price I paid.

Back briefly to the style. They have a square toe design, this is quite nice and makes my size sevens look a little less slab of steak like than they actually are. They have a zip on the side which is easy to fasten. They look fine with my boot cut uniform trousers but I don't think they would be all that flattering with a skirt or skinny jeans.

I bought these from Very for £35, this was the original price not in the sale or promotion. I think this is very good value for the comfort and how long they have lasted.
