“ Brand: Freemans / Type: Boots „
Last year I was desperate for some over the knee boots. I actually found nice ones quite hard to find and I quite fancied suede ones. I searched lots of online websites and that included the two catalogues I own. Freemans had these over the knee ones, which I ordered and kept, and later regretted.
The boots are thigh high. They are suedette, so not real suede, which I think is quite disappointing for the price, which was sixty pounds. I also had to wait for the boots for a couple of months as they had sold out, so I guess lots of people were ordering them.
The boots have a softly round toe shape. The foot area is incredibly dainty looking, which is helped by the fact the sole is incredibly thin. This again is disappointing for the price as it means they wear away quite quickly. The sole being thin means the material touches the ground a bit more and gets effected by wear and tear. As the material is not real suede it wears away very quickly and shoes damage and water and dirt marks, making the boots look less special and dressed up than I wanted them to be.
The boots have dampened (slightly more subtle colour) gold studs on them. They have some round the ankle area, and a double row at the top. This makes the boots a bit different and a bit more dressy.
The top of the boots is more of an open cuff than a tight sleeve. This means they fit a wider variety of shapes. Something I have realised since is that this is a less flattering shape than the tighter sleeve style boots. On the top there is also a tassle to make them a bit more hippyish, a very popular style at the time.
I find these boots low quality and I don't like the style. I wish I had sent them back!
Reading through the new reviews a few days ago I was very shocked to find a review on these shoes because I myself had just bought them a few days before so cheers xxfoxyredxx for suggesting them! Anyway Ive been on the lookout for a pair of over the knee boots for a really long time. I was actually trying to find a pair with heels but when I saw these on amazon for only 16.00 I just had to snap them up because they looked super comfy (due to the non-existent heel) and I thought they would work well for winter and stop my toes getting frostbite! I have to admit I wasnt sold on the tassle part at the back but everything about these boots I loved so I ordered them straight away.
Price: I paid 16.00 (+ 4.00 P&P)
Stockists: Freemans & Amazon
Other Info: Available in sizes 2-7, Only available in black & width C (I have no idea what that means but it might be useful for some people!)
Anyway these boots look exactly like they do in the image with this review. They are pretty long and made from a suede type material which makes the boots look more expensive than they actually are in my opinion. There is a line of gold studs around the foot part and another line closer to the top - Ive had mine a few weeks and been wearing them LOADS and no studs have fallen off yet so they are good quality. On the back there is also tassles threaded through the boot. Now that is the part I wasnt sold on so Im glad they are removable as they tend to flap about a bit while your trying to walk but they do add something different and if you dont like them the boot looks just as good if you take them off.
There is also a zip on the one side which I personally NEEDED to undo to get these things on my feet but they seemed to fit really well (if a tiny bit tight) on both shoes size and width & on my calves so I think most people will find these really comfortable. And they go with everything. I personally couldnt wear them with a skirt (I think Id look like a hooker!) but Ive seen quite a few people wearing these with skirts now and it looks just as good as they do if your wearing them with skinny jeans or leggings. So very versatile as they can be worn with loads of outfits and make a boring outfit look instantly more dressed up.
I do have a few slight problems though - obviously! Now I was under the impression when I bought these that the top could be folded down slightly if you wanted to wear them slightly shorter one day (as these do go quite far up my legs) but sadly the material on the inside at the top looks like latex or something. I think it would make the whole boot look proper tacky if I was to wear it like that so thats a bit of a shame. Also they rubbed the hell out of my feet the first time I wore them. Most new shoes to tend to rub me but these did leave LOADS of blisters all over my poor feet the first time. Luckily Ive worn them loads since then and not had any problems but beware the first wear!!
Overall I would highly recommend these boots. Ive been wearing them pretty much non-stop since I bought them as they seem to go with everything and after a while are really comfy. Highly recommended from me!
Thanks For Reading.

I own pair of over the knee boots. I love the way they look and they cost me an arm and a leg however the heel on them in gianormous and so they don't get much of an airing cos for days after wearing them my feet kill me!
I have real trouble getting boots that go up my legs and fit me right. I have really skinny legs and as my step father puts it I look like I'm putting a stick in an oversized vase and that comment makes me avoid boots like the plague!
However whenever I'm in shoe shops I often try boots on to no avail and I have ordered a few pairs from catalogues and the likes over the years but so many pairs have gone back...I'm used to it and so is my courier!
These are available from a size 3 to size 8 and are as I mentioned earlier are a flat boot with a tiny bit of a black rubber sole that isn't all that thick at all. The boot itself is suedette and they only come in black and have a gold stud effect around the bottom of the boot in a row of studs and then you get two rows of the gold and round studs towards the top of the boot. Those studs are more like buttons by the way!
The top of the boot is slightly angled so you can get your foot in so they are slightly higher to the front of the boot and then around the back you get a reasonable long black tassel which you can loosed or tighten to help give the best and snuggest fit possible. On the inside leg of the boot you get zips which don't open fully but are meant to open the boot slightly so you can get you foot and leg in it reasonably easily and the overall boot length is 25 inches and sits just above the knee.
These are an absolutely brilliant buy! The black suede is soft and smooth and a really, really dark black, the gold studs are fastened securely and I like the fact these are flat but still dressy boots. The zips do fold over slightly when wearing them like with all boots of this type but not too badly and the tassles not only give the boots a country and western feel but really do mean I can make these fit me securely and with no sagging. The negative is that there is no cushioning in the shoe part, though you could get some decent insoles and of course they are not waterproof. Because of no lining they are not particularly a warm boot either but on the plus side of things my legs or feet don't sweat at all!
These are exclusive to Freemans (online) and usually will cost £60.00 a pair but are currently on sale at £40.00 a pair...so come on snap them up! Great with your skinny jeans and leggings and dress up virtually any outfit ladies!
