Advantages: nice denim look, pastel colourings

Disadvantages: not very comfortable, not great after washing

My daughter was a big fan of Peppa Pig prior to discovering the Playhouse Disney Channel and though I really cannot stand anything Peppa she did have one or two things from the range which we seemed to find the quality wasn't all that great. My Grandma recently called down and said she had a surprise for my daughter, and in the bag was a pair of Peppa Pig boots! I thought it was a lovely thing to do however my daughter really didn't need any new shoes!

The boots are in the style of Converse boots so they are a modern style, and we already have a pair of those and they look great with most outfits! Though the boots are navy blue and are a denim effect, they are still made to look quite girly as they have a pink trim around the boot and a soft pink colour laces. On the side of the boot we have an embroidered picture of Peppa Pig and her name which is in soft pastel colours to co-ordinate with the boot. Peppa is not shown in her normal outfit which I think is because it would have looked too bright against the boot so the pastel colours make the boot look really trendy. The soles of the boots are a thick white rubber with a pale pink stripe through the centre and it is quite bendy, I say this as some of the boots I have looked at can be quite stiff and it makes me wonder how they expect a child to walk in them!

The sizing of the boots I would say is not that fantastic, my little girl is a size 7 yet they were extremely hard to get on her feet and she said they were hurting at the back of her foot once we had finally got them on so I had to take them back and get her a larger size. Even with the larger size they don't seem as though they are that comfortable on my little girls feet, she doesn't moan too much about them but she is very happy when they are taken off! That said, the lining of the boots is nice and soft so I would say they would be suitable to wear without socks if required but this isn't something that we have tried.

Though my daughter hasn't worn these boots an awful lot we have had to wash them once already as she got very muddy, and they did come out of the wash ok, however you can see around the rubber sole that it is slightly starting to come away so I wouldn't recommend washing them on a regular basis.

The price of the Peppa Pig boots is £6.00 which is a decent price to pay but the quality of them isn't fantastic so I personally wouldn't have been happy if they had cost any more than that. I think where my daughter doesn't find them very comfortable is due to the fact that she is used to her Converse boots which are obviously a better quality, so had we not had those she may have been happier with these.

All in all I would say these are an ok boot, but it is definately not something I would have chosen for my daughter and I wouldn't buy them again as I don't think the quality is brilliant - but then again for £6 they are as you would expect.

Thank you for reading my review :)

Summary: A decent boot for the price
