Whenever my daughter comes across a puddle of any sort, be it just a wet one or a muddy one, she goes all Peppa Pig and has to jump around in them. She likes nothing more than putting on her wellies after a rain shower and going for a walk outside. She owns two different pairs of wellies for two different occasions. These Peppa Pig wellies are for our wood walks, and jumping in muddy puddles!
These wellies were actually purchased last year but she has only recently been able to wear them as I bought them a size too big. I bought them from our local Asda for £7, an absolute bargain for childrens character wellies.
The wellies are designed really well, as for wet and mucky outdoor use they need to have a good grip on them. These have a chunky rubber sole with lots of grip so they manage muddy walks with no tripping or slipping. The wellies also go up to just below my daughters knee's, fantastic if she's got tights on so they don't get mucky if theres mud flying around from us walking or her jumping in the mud.
Inside the wellies, there isn't much in the way of padding around the foot and leg, if my daughter only wears socks and has jeans on over the top of the wellies, they do move around quite a lot as she walks. For this reason I tend to put tights or leggings on my daughter when she wears these so they feel a little safer on her legs. There is a little padding underneath my daughters feet, I definitely think this is needed considering how tough and rubbery the sole of the wellies actually is.
Although these wellies have a Peppa Pig design the main colour is pale blue instead of the pink you would expect, this is a nice thing as everything my daughter owns seems to be covered in pink. Peppa Pig is featured on the main leg of the wellies and isn't too large. It is a nice and girly design despite being mainly pale blue in colour.
The sizing of these boots is a little large, although I bought my daughter a toddler size 6, the majority of her shoes are now a size 7, but these still seem to have quite a bit of room left to grow into. I would definitely try these on your children in Asda if you wanted to buy them to use now as they could be a little too roomy for some.
~ George peppa pig wellies ~
Oh these are adorable, as I have four boys I rarely get to buy anything girly but when I saw these in Asda reduced to £3.50 I had to get them for my niece, well, I say niece she is actually my cousins little girl but hey, she likes to call me aunty and I have baby sat her since she was a baby!
She is a proper little girl and loves anything pink and glittery and I was tempted to buy her pink glittery wellies but when I saw these I thought these looked more durable and felt a lot better quality than the others.
She was staying up with me on the weekend and we often go for a walk up to the ponds to feed the ducks and just generally to get out of the house for a bit.
When her mum dropped her off she asked me straight away if we were going to feed the ducks so I told her yes and that I had a surprise for her and proceeded to get these lovely little wellies out for her, she was thrilled with them and ran around the house snorting like Peppa Pig!
She's only 5yrs old now and at the time she was about 3yrs (ish) and I put her wellies on her and she was so excited and started rambling out about puddles! My son who is just a little bit younger than her also had his wellies on and he started with the puddles talk too, so before we went I used my head and got their pyjamas ready on the radiator so they would be nice and warm for when we got back.
The wellies were a perfect fit on her (okay, I did need to put on a pair of socks over her wooley tights but still) and she didn't moan or complain about them once. They looked adorable on her, and best of all they kept her feet dry, while mine were a little soggy!!
My little boy and my niece had lots of fun jumping in any puddle they could find big or small and both of their wellies worked as they should (my sons were the same style but George Pig). I like that they are nice and bright and the fact that they are made out of a softer rubber to the usual wellies is a bonus as I am sure they keep their little feet warmer.
Overall I (and she) were very impressed with these wellies..... She even put them back on with her PJ's and I had to get them off her when she was asleep!
My daughter may be only three years old going on ten, but she knows what she wants, and refuses to wear anything she doesn't like. For this reason, I never just pick up things in the shop unless she's with me.
We needed some new wellies last winter, as she had outgrown her previous ones. We were having a wander around Asda when we spotted the Peppa Pig wellies; I knew they were going to be a hit as they had a combination of pink, blue and a large character Peppa on the side of the wellies.
Being from Asda they were also very reasonably priced at £7, so a bargain all round and everyone was happy.
What I liked about the wellies immediately was the thick sole. I know wellies are designed to be chunky for outdoor use, but these have a generous layer of heel rubber. They are also a decent size in the length department. There's nothing worse than buying children's wellies and they stop almost at their ankles. What's that all about?
The design on the wellies is predominantly feminine, but yet not covered in pink which is nice. Peppa is designed on the wellies to be on the outside of each boot. We use this as a learning tool to get the boots on the right feet. No matter how uncomfortable it must be, my daughter will happily run around with her wellies on the wrong feet and not complain about it.
The sizing of the wellies is fairly generous but perhaps not as large in size as some brands I have bought. I found I had to buy a size too large and they fit properly with perhaps a season's use out of them. I don't like to buy too big despite wearing thick socks with wellies as they can be quite uncomfortable for children if they slip all the time. The width seems to be of an average size however. My daughter is a width F from Clarks which is slightly above average, and we aren't squeezed into the boot, but yet not too much room either.
I am quite please with the inside of the wellies. Whilst there is no padding and nor would I expect any from a wellington boot, it is nice to be able to feel a slightly spongy layer in the base of the boot.
We have been through plenty of puddles and mud with the wellies, and despite having some chunky soles; I can just plonk these in the sink and give them a good wash with warm water. So far after one winter, the design hasn't cracked or peeled and still looks as vibrant as when I first bought them which is good as I will be able to pass them onto someone else when the time comes.
Overall I think you could do worse than buy your child's wellies from the George range at Asda.
My son and daughter are both Peppa pig mad anything to do with these little piggy's and it grabs my children's attention. While shopping in Matalan a few months ago we came across some George Wellies discounted to £3.50 half the original price. Of course my little man spotted them straight away and immediately decided he wanted them.
The boots are rather plain looking but attractive enough. The boots them selves are navy blue and have a picture of spaceman George on the outside of the boot. This picture is an exact copy of the character from the popular TV program and there fore pleased my son that George was on his Wellies. Underneath the picture it also has George's name! The sole of the boot is red and like all Wellies the whole boot is made of a water proof plastic to keep the water out.
The question is do they work? Well yes we have now had these boots a few months with constant use as the weather has been terrible lately and there are no scuffs and most importantly no wet feet. With lots of rain my son as he likes to say has been jumping in lots of muddy puddles! As of yet these boots have held up well and have done the job they were intended for.
My downside to these boots is the gorge picture is actually a transparent press on in the shape of a square. From where my son has been moving in them the corners of the press on are slowly peeling and soon I'm afraid if my son notices he will just pull it off. This would make no difference to the boot itself but as we brought them for the Gorge appeal I am sure my son would be very disappointed.
I would recommend these especially if your child is a Peppa Pig fan as these will go down well. At the same time as the child liking them for the character attraction they are a sturdy pair of practical boots for the winter months. At £7 at usual Rrp they are not bank breaking which is good news when it comes to children's clothing as they often do not last long.
It's getting colder, wetter, and muddier and no doubt snow will soon be on the way. This calls for one thing, new wellies! Checking out the new range in asda my daughter was soon to pick out these peppa pig wellies. At only £7 I thought I would pick them up.
Those of you who are familiar with peppa pig will know the phrase associated with wellies, "jump in muddy puddles." This is the first thing my daughter said to me when we bought them! Getting them home she was soon to try them on, she was easily able to put them on her feet by herself despite getting the feet wrong. The wellies seemed comfortable and has never complained about them. She was soon to come to the back door all exited wanting to jump in muddy puddles. Unfortunately it hadn't been raining so we poured water outside to create our own puddles.
The wellies come high enough up the leg not to create much of a splash leaving the legs nice and dry. They don't allow any water to seep in also leaving the feet nice and dry. We have had these for around a month and every time it rains she is soon to get her wellies on in an exited daze and demand to play outside. As you may be wondering muddy puddles = MESS! However these are easy to clean and just needs a little wipe to get any mud of.
The wellies are the cutest and brightest things I have ever seen! They are a bright blue with a rainbow running around the rim. They then have a big picture of peppa pig on the side wearing a rain Mac and hat; it is almost like a picture with the grass and clouds etc. They then have a pretty pink rim going around the bottom. These wellies are definitely not lacking in the design and colour department. As a matter of fact they are not lacking any ware they are one of the best pairs of wellies we have bought for her and at £7 they are a great price. They come in a range of sizes and are designed for girls however they could ever so slightly be passed as unisex. However they are found in the girls shoe section in asda.
I would definitely recommend these wellies, especially for peppa pig fans. They are perfect for the up and coming winter months. They keep little toes warm, dry and comfortable.
