Big thumbs up, but many improvements possible.

I bought these for £80 - great price for this kind of boot.

The leather is still supple, and still hasn't creased after a whole winter's usage. I've not even polished them.

The Geox sole solves a substantial Winter problem: how to keep your feet warm without developing a smelly, sweaty foot problem. It's been achieved. I have no complaints, my feet have been kept dry and warm.

The breathability is remarkable: it allows sweat vapour to be eliminated without letting in large water droplets e.g. puddles and snow.

However, the sole does feel thin because of the nature of Geox technology (the sole can't be thick for it to work). This isn't always great for winter, but it is fantastic for walking. In fact, I found walking a breeze and so enjoyable when when I was wearing these.

The in-sole isn't fantastic, there isn't much foot support, I thought of putting a 'Scholl Spring Insert' inside, but then that would defeat the purpose of the Geox technology.

The sole is weak on the heel area and is the first part to wear out - the grip has flattened out through what I consider to be light-wear e.g. shopping, work. I suppose I do walk a fair bit, but that's my life, I do expect my boots to be able to work just as hard and not start showing signs of wear-and-tear until at least six months.

I know they are not the same, but I have a pair of 10-year-old Timberland walking boots I've worn a huge number of times for long walks in our concrete jungles and on active holidays and they're still insanely usable and in tact.

These Geox boots have a leather criss-cross design on the back of the calf, fastened by velcro to allow comfort and fittings for a variety of calf-sizes. Great idea, but still could be improved.

There is also velcro across the width of the foot to allow customised fitting here too.

The trouble with velcro is the way it occassionally sticks to clothing - I wear them under trousers.

If I'm not mistaken, I believe these are a kind of first attempt by Geox at this kind of thing and I say: big thumbs up, but many improvements possible.
