Not a flop

Advantages: wear, look, colours, design, cheap
Disadvantages: only for casual wear
I pretty much own two types of shoes - pumps and flip flops. This pretty much covers every eventuality and all the seasons. I generally opt for comfortable and versatile shoes that I can match to any outfit. My choice for pumps is usually New Look but when it comes to cheap flip flop I always head straight for H & M because I find their flip flops comfortable and dirt cheap!
Now we probably get about 3 days of sunshine in this country and I don't tend to go on holiday all that much but I find flip flops are useful to have for those brief glimpses of sunlight. They are also an easy way to dress down an outfit for a casual BBQ or summer get together. They are also my only choice of shoe for holidays where you might get sandy and hot.
These flip flops cost me £3.99 which is a ridiculously good price considering they aren't just a plan pair, but have a little bit of style. All my other H & M flip flops have worn really well so I thought I couldn't really go wrong with these.
These flip flops did come in a variety of other colours though I chose this dark brown pair. The sole of the shoe is a ridged foam which provides you with the grip to wear these in any eventuality. I find these types of soles tend to wear relatively quickly but actually these have stood the test of a few months of wear. The foot of the shoe is covered in a soft material and the shoe feels foamy to press. This means the shoes are very light, easy to pack and take up very little space. The thong of the shoe is a plaited piece of material which runs between your big and index toe. I think the plait is a nice touch as these tend to be quite in trend on clothing this summer. It also adds a bit of detail to what is otherwise a nice but simple flip flop.
I tend to think expensive flip flops are actually more bother than they are worth. I have owned nicer sandal style flip flops but they have either rubbed my feet raw or I've been too worried about dirtying them because of the price I've paid. These H & M flip flops are cheap and cheerful, I know if they get ruined I've barely spent anything on them and also I can easily run off to get another pair.
I have found in the past that the thong part of flip flops have rubbed inside my toes and made it a little sore. I have had no such experience with these shoes though, they have been kind to my feet and I've not experienced any rubbing at all which I think is unusual. They are similar to another pair of H & M flip flops I already own so perhaps my feet are already adjusted to this type of shoe, or it could be the material. Either way they are super comfortable with no rubbing which is always a bonus.
In terms of durability I have been wearing these flip flops for over 3 months now, during the summer, and have seen very little visible wearing other than the shoe slightly moulding to the shape of my foot. I think this is great and definitely bodes well for the next couple of years of wear I plan to get out of them.
Overall, a great flip flop - you can't ask for much more for £3.99.
Summary: A great summer flip flop at bargain prices.
