      2/5

I went to Oxford street earlier this year and out of all the shops the H&M was definitely my favourite - it's absolutely massive and there were so many bargains to be had! I went a bit crazy and bought way too many clothes as well as quite a few pairs of shoes and these were one of my purchases.

If I'm honest I did buy them mainly because they were on sale but I also liked the unusual design and they seemed pretty good quality. The bright colours caught my attention and I loved the blue pair as this is quite an unusual colour for a pair of pumps - most are black or quite a basic colour.

I can't remember the exact amount that I paid for them but it was something silly like £2.50. The retail price is £7.99 and the H&M website has them listed as being currently reduced to £4.99. I personally wouldn't pay the full price as I don't think that they're particulalry versatile, nor are they great quality.

The design is pretty simple and while they sound slightly hideous when being described they do look nice on - these are basically ballet pumps with a peep toe, making them look like a cross between sandles and pumps. The design is really cute in my opinion but like I said before not very versatile and I personally only wore them during the summer while out and about and I always wore them with shorts or a dress/skirt because I thought that they looked quite odd with jeans and when paired with leggings they looked quite chavtastic!

I have these in dark blue which has a nice purple tone to it and the colour is nice and bright while still being casual and not too in your face. They are also available in red, beige and black. I love the look of the beige ones but these weren't available when I bought mine so they must of sold out. The material feels a little like suede but you can tell from looking at it and touching it that it is synthetic as it's a lot thinner than suede and the texture is quite weird as well.

The pumps have got a completely flat rubber sole with a teeny tiny (I'd guess 0.5cm) raised bit and I feel quite flat footed when walking in them; they don't give my ankles or feet any support at all and as well as this they also rub against the back of my ankles after a few minutes of walking so they are a no-no if you are wanting a pair of comfortable pumps. The sole is extremely thin and the insoles aren't padded either so when walking on pavement it feels like I am pretty much bare-footed. Size wise they're great though and fit like a glove but the comfort and quality is pretty dire.

I wore these quite often during the summer and the material looks quite worn but there are no major scuffs. I don't recommend them though because of the quality of the sole, plus they rub against my ankles. I give them 2/5 stars.

A nice shoe but only for summer.

A while ago after shopping in H & M I was given a £5 off your next shop voucher by the shop assistant. There was a time limit on when you had to spend it by and I was in need of a pair of shoes anyway so I thought I'd buy these and try them out.

These are a basic ballet style shoe but which a bit of a twist with the peep toe element. They are in a faux suede and I bought mine in black though if I remember rightly there were other colours at the time - including blue, nude and red. The simple design with that added interest in the open toe meant I fell in love with them instantly and knew I want to buy them.

I'm not a big heel wearer and so the flat style of this shoe is perfect for me. Though I like my shoes super practical sometimes I like to go for something a little bit different because when I go out I don't wear heels and so want something a little nicer than my regular pump. These were a good option for me because the open toe creates a bit of interest and the suede gives a lovely plush feel but they are in essence a lovely comfortable basic pump.

Despite being relatively cheap they are very well made. The sole is relatively thick and the faux suede material has a lovely feel to it. My pump generally last me around 3-4 months of constant use and though I didn't wear these constantly they have lasted me 6 months so far and I'm sure I'll get another 6 out of them before they are too worn to wear.

The suede hasn't faded at all which is great because I think black has a tendency to fade to a nasty grey colour with suede. Unlike real suede this fabric doesn't get water marks though it does show the dirt quite easily so you have to be careful not to wear them in bad weather or muddy places.

I do find these shoes very comfortable though probably my biggest criticism would be that the peep toe can hurt your toes a little. I have found them less practical than I initially though as well because they can only really be worn in summer with bare feet. I don't mind this because I hadn't bought them with constant wear in mind, but if you are looking for a practical shoe then this isn't really the one for you.

The pumps cost £7.99 so with my £5 off voucher I managed to bag them for a measly £2.99 which isn't bad at all! At this price I am very happy, though I probably would have been equally happy with £7.99 which is a very reasonable price.

Overall, a nice but maybe not wholly practical shoe.

        lovely pair of shoes

Recently I've noticed that a lot of clothes/shoes/accessories that I own are on the DooYoo catalogue so I am going to review them - as I prefer writing clothing reviews to beauty at the moment partly due to my fashion course.

Over the summer I received lots of gift vouchers and one of these was £10 for H&M. I went shopping in Windsor with a friend when I went to visit and was surprised by their H&M - its huge! Whilst browsing round and spending a stupid amount of money, I found these gorgeous shoes which are faux suede ballet pumps with a peep toe. As I had a blue cardigan and lots of blue clothes, I decided to avoid my usual plain coloured shoes that go with everything and buy a royal blue pair (partly as they were the only colour in my size). The shoes do also come in nude, black and various other bright colours.

The pumps are flat with no heel at all and are quite soft to touch due to the faux suede. You can tell the suede isn't real and I hoped it wouldn't ruin as easy as real but I used suede waterproof spray none the less. The pumps are shaped like the classic dolly/ballet shoe. The shoe is open with a peep toe and it fits my feet lovely. The sizes are pretty size perfect so I would definitely go for the size you are normally - but try them on if you don't think they will fit.

As mine are blue, I expected them to fade quite quickly but they stayed vibrant and the suede hasn't gone funny, although I have tried to avoid wearing them on wet days so I don't purposefully destroy them. They weren't painful to break in and were comfortable from the first step and I am sure they will last me a long time as my other H&M shoes have done before. My feet don't get sweaty and smelly either which I found they do a lot with Primark shoes and some from New Look.

The pumps cost £7.99 and can be brought in store or online. From personal experience I would not recommend buying online as it seems to be a complete nightmare (others will agree if you see online reviews on here alone). In store you will see full range of colours and be able to choose your size, the store also orders in for you.

I have worn these quite a bit since I brought them but I find they don't really go with much except for black and white. I do much prefer wearing my Toms or other more comfortable shoes but these are nice for a more dressy occasion - especially when its a fashion event through college. I have to admit I am worried to wear them in the rain or wet conditions because I don't want to ruin them. I hate ruining shoes!

I would recommend these ballet pumps because they are comfortable, stylish and they make your feet look really nice. They have lasted me a long time and I intend to wear them for years to come (if they continue to stay perfect).

Really good value sandals from H&M

I purchased a pair of peep-toe sandals from H&M a couple of months ago, which they call imitation suede peep-toe ballet pumps. I always have sandals suitable for work in summer, and I thought these might do - however, as they were available in nice bright colours, instead of going for my usual black I bought a pair in bright royal blue, thinking they would be nice for casual wear too.

The sandals are flat and soft to touch and wear. The material is clearly imitation suede rather than the real thing, but it is still nice to look at and touch. The top of the sandal is open, and they are a ballet pump shape with a toe opening, although I think of them more as having a bar across the top of the foot than a hole out of the toe of a ballet pump. The blue of my pair is very bright and striking.

I have had summer sandals from H&M before, and have always been impressed with the quality and comfort they offer for a low price. These sandals cost only £7.99, but previous pairs in similar styles have lasted me all summer with daily wear, so I was confident it would be a good value purchase.

The sandals are very comfortable to wear. The soles aren't very thick, but they are thick enough that standing on a stone doesn't hurt. The material is soft and flexible to start with, so I have experienced no rubbing on my feet. The only problem I have with them is that they make my feet quite hot and sweaty, despite being quite open. I think that this is down to the material - they are imitation suede on the inside as well, instead of having a cotton lining, so it doesn't allow my feet to breathe. I don't find it unbearable but I do find that I tend to lift my feet out of the sandals when I sit down.

I have only worn these to work once, despite my intentions, as I felt too much like I had bare feet. The top is very open, more so than the ballet pump shoes I have been wearing to work for the last few months, and I didn't feel like I was suitably dressed for work. The colour was fine for work, as I tend to wear dark coloured trousers and plain coloured tops, so it was perfectly smart. So I have mostly worn these sandals for casual wear, and I have found them to be very comfortable for traipsing around sightseeing in Cambridge or shopping near home. I like wearing the sandals on a nice day as I feel a bit more fashionable than I do in my trusty trainers!

So far the sandals are wearing extremely well, they still look new despite regular use since I bought them. Had I been wearing them every day to work I would have expected more wear, but a I only wear them outside work I think they will still be in very good condition at the end of the summer.

I have avoided wearing these when there has been any chance of getting caught in the rain, as the colour is so bright that I am sure it would run and stain my feet - plus the material being imitation suede, I'm not sure how well it would survive getting soaked.

I'm very happy with my purchase of these peep-toe sandals from H&M, and I'll no doubt return next summer to see what next year's selection is like - even if these are still in good condition!
