I picked up a pair of these Hello Kitty shoes from TK Maxx when our daughter was one and up on her feet. I had only bought Clarks shoes prior to this and was a little bit unsure as to whether these shoes would be any good for her. I did want something nice to wear with a dress though and so the HK shoes fit the bill for this purpose.
The shoes are slip on with an embellished toe and a velcro ankle strap that keep the shoe securely in place. The picture on the toe is of course the iconic Hello Kitty face and very cute. HK is even featured on the shoe liner which is a nice finish to the shoe and a sign of quality.
Overall the shoes are well made but not very padded and probably not the best for going on long walks. I think they looked lovely on and they seemed to be quite comfortable as much as a one year old can tell you if their feet are hurting! Our daughter outgrew the shoes well beofre they wore out and even though they have a patent finish (I think they are available in both matt and patent finish) they had not scuffed at all.
I paid £12.99 for these shoes at TK Maxx.
I think these shoes were a great buy and although a one year old can't choose shoes, I think they are popular amongs little girls due to the branding of Hello Kitty. Ours wore well and never looked scruffy and they are in waiting for the next opportunity to be worn by our second daughter. I would probably not choose these as shoes to wear every day but I would say they go well with a party dress. I would probably buy these again in the future in the relevant size as they have been a good purchase for a good price.
A few months ago I decided both of my daughters could do with some new school shoes so I took them to our local Windsors World of Shoes as it is only a short distance from our home and I find they have an extensive range of well priced footwear, particularly for children. I also planned on measuring both of my children's feet to ensure I was buying them the correct size and I find Windsors are ideal for that.
I pretty much allow my children to choose their own shoes as long as they conform to the school uniform policy, the shoes must be black and with only a small heel allowed. It didn't take long for my youngest to spot these Hello Kitty Bow School shoes, which I am reviewing today.
The shoes are black in colour and are in a "Mary Jane" style, they are made from PU synthetic leather. On the front of each shoe is an embroided Hello Kitty face complete with a glittery silver bow, a similar bow is displayed on the back of each heel. The shoes have long velcro straps which have "Hello Kitty" written in pink on them. There is also a lovely colourful Hello Kitty design inside the shoes displaying a picture the character herself along with various school items such as books, pencils and apples. A label inside shows that the shoes are officially Sanrio Licenced and they also give the shoe size. The shoes have a very small heel and a decent thick sole, the bottoms are non - slip in a pink flower design.
My daughter has been wearing these to nursery pretty much everyday and she has found them really comfortable. I have been extremely pleased with how well they have lasted, in fact they show very little sign of wear at all. There are a few scuffs on the front toe area but this is something I would expect from any child's school shoe, especially when worn in nursery. Occasionally they have become a little mucky but a quick wipe over with a damp cloth and they come up brilliantly clean. The embroided Hello Kitty face and bow have remained completely intact and still as sparkly and glam as the day we purchased them.
The velcro straps are really easy to use and my daughter has no problems removing the shoes or putting them back on by herself. The velcro fastening stays in place and we have not experience any problems with my daughters feet slipping out of them.
Whilst in Windsors I had my daughters feet measured so I knew exactly which size shoe she was. As she was a size 7 we obviostly picked this size first when trying on the shoes. I must say that the shoes fit well, initially they had a little room in the front but to be honest I think this is a rather positive point. They are starting to get a little small for her now but I shall be buying her some soft pumps for the summer soon anyways.
I have been really impressed with these shoes and therefore have no problem's recommending them. I have found them to be of a brilliant quality, robust and durable. My daughter finds them really comfortable and of course she loves the Hello Kitty design.
As mentioned earlier, I bought these Hello Kitty shoes in Windsors World of shoes. I forget exactly how much I Paid for them but a quick look on their website shows they are currently on sale for £12.00 (usual price £15.00), which I think is a fantastic price. They are available in children's sizes 6 to 12. These shoes are also available on Amazon for a few pence cheaper than Windsors, but with fewer sizes available.
