Hunter Original Wellington Boot
Advantages: Quality is amazing.
Hunter wellies have become very popular in the last 3 years and have moved on from a wealthy middle class country staple, to a fashion lovers accessory. From summer festivals, to winter in the rain, they have made themselves a year round foot wear option. I tend to follow fashion and after pining after these for some time I finally caved in and purchased some at the beginning of the summer. They come in such a huge range of colours, you can go for the brights, the patterns, or decorated (for example with studs). Even special edition ones exist! I went for a timeless navy blue, as when spending so much on a product I want to make sure it is a versatile as possible and isn't just a shade which will be out of fashion the next year.
Price and availability:
There are a whole host of websites which sell Hunters. As with any designer brand, be careful not to buy fakes, so check out reputable websites only. I bought mine from a high street shop, office. I am an adults size 4 and was most excited to find children's sizes go up that high, so I saved myself a considerable amount of money by buying these in a children's size for only £40. I have also seen these foe sale in Schuh. They are such good quality and stand the test of time that buying a second hand pair is also an option, to get a better price, if that is an option you fancy.
Hunters are superb quality as you would expect for the price paid. The material is thick and very hard wearing. I haven't got so much as a scratch on mine and they have been quite heavily used. As they are a childs size they have a cute printed area on the inside for you to write your name so they don't get muddled up with your friends and always make it back to you.
Even though the boots are thick and fantastic quality, they still have the ease of movement when you bend your feet and it doesn't feel like they are really inflexible and hard to move in. It makes them OK to wear when you are going for a long walk, as they won't get uncomfortable like I have with cheaper wellington boots in the past. The soles are also hard wearing, and hardly wear down. As long as my feet always stay the same size, I can't imagine having to replace these.
I have also worn these in the summer when it was hot, but raining (not for a festival- I am definitely not that exciting!) and my feet did not get too hot, like you could imagine.
I know these boots are a little extra than what most people would normally pay, but I think they are worth it, so long as you are going to get plenty of use out of them. I almost feel they are an investment piece, as I could quite easily sell mine now and get back almost what I paid, even though they have been well used. There is just one thing to note, I would advise trying on before you buy, to confirm the exact size required as I found they came up half a size smaller than I had anticipated.
Summary: Enjoy your new boots!
