Iron Fist Muerte punk platform heels.
I had seen these platforms whilst browsing in the shoe store 'Schuh' a while back. It is a usual occurrence for me to go through Iron Fists' designs; I am constantly awed at the entire collections' creativity. They are a little 'out there' but this only increases the want for them and their uniqueness.
On the morning of my birthday I tore off the paper on the gift that my other half had gotten me to have Iron Fists emblem staring at me from the daring black box. 'Made with love for a heartless world, Iron Fist girls' it said. And inside, there they were. I realise I'm lucky to have found a man who understands my addiction to shoes and even luckier that he's happy to feed it on such occasions.
I found the sizing was perfect, it's usually best to try heels on but I received these heels in my usual size six and they were neither too big nor too small. With -quite a thick- heel of eleven centimetres they are not the lowest, but they're not overly high and the platform front, at one-point five centimetres means you're supported well enough that your foot doesn't arch in an uncomfortable way. You also don't have the problem of slipping forward as you can do with high heels.
These particular peep toes have dark silver metallic and white skulls, a black background and gorgeous purple roses. Inside the shoe is lined with a striking metallic purple and slight padding beneath adding more comfort.
I've also seen pairs available in pink and silver, red and blue and green and grey. However, researching the locations of these online has proved the only pair available now at Schuh online is the pink and silver, priced at fifty pounds. The others can be found at www.thealternativestore.net (This purple pair priced at forty-seven pounds forty-nine pence) they have an entire section devoted to Iron Fist. The location I have seen them best priced though is Amazon, for forty-five pounds upwards. There you can find the majority of colours.
I realise that these shoes may frighten some people with their dramatic design but I assure you, teamed with a basic outfit or an outfit with purple accessories combined (or whichever coloured pair you choose) they really do look fantastic and don't just have to be worn by those into punk fashion. I personally think they are better suited to be worn at night while visiting pubs/ clubs and would be slightly bizarre looking should they be worn to anything formal.
My platforms have been worn countless times and the heel s are still perfectly intact, they continue to look relatively new due to them being easily cleaned with a damp cloth. I'd recommend these to any shoe lover, but obviously those not familiar to higher heels may suffer. I would still say give them a go though (I always find it helpful to wear the highest heels I own around the house before venturing out in another pair slightly lower, but if these are the highest heels that you own wear them for a set period of time for a couple of days to fully break them in before you venture out.)
For the price, these shoes really are excellent quality and will remain a favourite pair of mine until I eventually wear them into the ground.
I love these platforms, in fact the whole range from Iron Fist is excellent, I have three pairs in all, the Jungle Fever Heel show, a Thelma Bootie and these Punk Platform shoes which I bought in Camden one Saturday for £45.
They are purple in colour with a skull and cross bones pattern on them, there are other colours and varieties available but these were the ones that attracted my attention straight away. One of the things I was quite surprised about was that they have proven to be more comfortable to wear than I expected them to be. That is not to say there is not some discomfert and I certainly do not wear them for long periods of time, just nights out. They have an open toe and a platform at the front of the shoe which does help to make them easier to walk in. I have not suffered any rubbing or marks on my feet when wearing them and while I try not to be standing up in them for too long I have bopped the night away in them with out a great deal of soreness the morning after other than a slight rubbing that occurred but to be honest that is probably down to me over doing it rather than the design of the shoe.
As a shoe the purple means they go great with jeans or dark trousers and they certainly attract attention when you wear them. They have a five inch heel so they certainly add some height however due to the thickness of the sole they do not put too much strain on your calf muscles and they are surprisingly comfortable to wear, to be honest I expected more discomfort.
For special nights out these are a great pair of shoes and I love the edgy feel of the whole range, they are well worth checking out.
I love shoes, and I own way more than my other half would like to me to lol. I just keep on buying more though, and I am sure that most women on this site will agree with me that a woman can just never have enough shoes!! My partner is annoyed by the amount of shoes I have, and even more annoyed that I have the pink version of these ones too! He can't work that they are different enough to warrant having both pairs!
These shoes are the Iron Fist Muerte Punk Green Platform shoes. They are pretty much the same as the pink ones I own, except the flowers on the shoe pattern are green not pink, and there is not a studded stip along the front of the green ones. Although I see from the picture dooyoo have posted here, I can also get them in purple! I will be going to hunt these down once this review is done!
The shoes are stilletto heeled, and the front of the shoe has an open peep toe. The rest of the shoe is sort of in a court shoe style, but in a more pretty, elegant way that sets off the pattern quite nicely. The pattern is of skulls, which are in gray and the flowers are in green, as I said before. The green is quite a nice shade of green, not too bright that it looks garish, cheap and tacky, but not so dark that it may as well not be green. It is a really lovely colour, and it does go really well nice a fair few of my outfits.
I was originally worried as to how much these shoes would hurt, not only my feet, but my knee as well. Luckily my knee has healed up quite well since surgery, and I am able to walk in these now, but not for more than a couple of hours at a time. I do spend a lot of my night sitting down when I go out in these, just for the sake of my knee. I have been able to dance in them once in a while, and I am amazed to find that these are actually quite easy to walk in, as well as dance in. I think the platform at the front of these shoes make them easier to walk in, and this also takes some of the extra pressure off your hips, knees and ankles.
The shoes fit nice and snugly on my feet, so there is no slipping and sliding when I walk or dance. Luckily they are not too snug either, so there is no cutting or sore spots from wearing these. Nothing is worse than a pretty pair of shoes you can not wear because they cause too many problems and too much pain. There is a slight padding in the insole of these shoes, so there is a good squishiness to them when you walk, which keeps your feet comfortable and relaxed, but it is still sturdy enough not to effect the way you walk when you wear them. Amazingly, the inner sole in not very thick, and I was expecting it to be much thicker because of the way it is so comfortable when you wear these shoes.
I was also worried about the heel being too thin, but it still appears to be pretty sturdy, has shown no signs of snapping or swaying. There is also no signs of streching or pulling on the actual shoe itself, which is something a few of my shoes have done before after a bit of wear.
Even though I have worn these a few times, there is still no sign that they have been worn. They look brand new still, and due to the way the shoes are made it is easy to wipe them clean if you get them dirty. The only sign that you can see if you look closely, is some markings on the under sole. There are a few marks and scuffs on there, where I have walked in the shoes, but this is hardly anything and I would have expected a lot more markings for the amount of use I have had from them.
Iron fist shoes are usually quite expensive, and these platform shoes are no exception. I paid £43.99 for these on Amazon, which is the cheapest place I have been able to find them. They are also available in Schuh stores and on the Schuh website, but they will cost you £49.99 if you buy them this way. This is the exact same price as the pink versions of these.
I can not find a fault with these shoes, they are amazing quality and look wonderful with pretty much any outfit. They make a small change from the pink ones I own, and this is enough of a change to add a difference to an outfit. I get lots of positive comments when I wear these shoes. I know these may be expensive shoes, but they really are amazing quality and totally worth the money I paid for them.
I give this shoes a 5 out of 5, and I totally recommend them to anyone (except for those who are actually unable to wear high heels!)
Woo Woo check me out in my Iron Fist sky scrapers.
Just look around the net and you will find loads of reviews on Iron Fist shoes. Most of them will tell you that they are excellent quality with unique designs, are amazingly comfy for such high heels etc etc all of which is absolutely true. But this kind of review is to do them a disservice (no offence meant). This kind of review does not tell you how a pair of Iron Fist shoes make you feel. Let me tell you about my Iron Fist shoes.....
It has often been said by many a woman that shoes are better than sex. I myself have never been a shoe fetishist - "Pah these people are not doing it right", I used to think, that is until Christmas 2010 when I first encountered Iron Fist shoes. It is the first time that my boyfriend has even dared to buy me anything that could be considered "clothes".
It is difficult to explain but as soon as they adorned my feet they made me feel amazing. The skyscraper heels lengthened my calves and I swear my legs looked like they'd halved in size. Even though I was still in my snowman pyjamas and raggy dressing gown I immediately felt fabulous. Needless to say despite the snow there was no way I was wearing anything other than these shoes.
Every time I slip on my Iron Fist shoes I immediately feel stylish, sexy and confident. My head is held high as I strut down the street and I cannot stop smiling. The shoes have magic powers* which make me feel I can achieve anything I want, nothing is out of reach (literally at times). Whether you are wearing them to do the hoovering or dancing the night away in a club I challenge you to feel anything other than wonderful when wearing these shoes.
There is no doubt about it Iron Fist shoes are fabulous but better than that you will feel fabulous wearing them, they ma be expensive but who can put a price on that?
