Shoes are a bit of a weakness for me, as they are for a lot of people. So a few years ago when I found Irregular Choice I know it was the start of a beautiful and wonderful friendship. That and an expensive friendship, for anyone that knows Irregular Choice will know that all too well.
My pair of Abigail’s Party were one of the first pairs of Irregular Choice that I bought, mainly because the pair I got called Iced Gem were multi coloured flowers and generally looked beautiful.
Since then I’ve wanted a fair few different pairs but never really got around to affording another pair. However they are really comfortable considering they’re quite high heels in the first place, but they don’t feel like they’re at such a steep angle that they hurt your feet when you wear them for a long period of time. The beauty is the heel although it’s tapered it is on the chunkier side, there’s no stiletto here so you’ve got a lot more in the way of support.
Now as with all Irregular Choice shoes the soles of the shoe have a design on it, which varies depending which party you got, as we’re now on Abigail’s Third Party! Obviously if you’re planning on walking around in these shoes, you run the risk of ruining the bottom of them – so you could do with some sole protectors really, which exist on Amazon.
The sole protectors are also a good idea to stop you from slipping around on low grip floors. Before I put them on my shoes I would walk round tesco slipping and sliding around which was quite amusing I won’t lie – but not the most practical.
The design and colours you will be spoilt for choice, they’re a lace up shoe so look beautiful with the coloured laces in them, some ribbon and some fabric you really will find a pair that goes with every outfit you own.
These shoes are designed to last though, they’re just such a good quality fabric and heel that you’ll not worry about if they’ll last you through a season. They’ll last you years if you look after them well – treat the fabric nicely and preserve them if you have some shoe spray. They won’t hurt your feet, or rather they didn’t me – I can wear mine for a day shopping or a night out and I’ve got no complaints at the end of the night!
Pricey though, anything up to £100 a pair, but you’ll often find bargains on the Facebook Irregular Choice selling group, eBay, Gumtree or Depop!
Abigail's Party shoe boots are another of Irregular Choice's designs, which have been released in dozens of different fabrics and colours.
~ Price and availability ~
I bought a beautiful Irregular Choice black and floral clutch bag with a bow on the front online and when I discovered there was some of these shoe boots to match I became on a mission to find a pair.
I managed to track them down and bought them on sale for around £45.00 from USC's website, www.usc.co.uk. They are also available online at www.sarenza.co.uk.
They are available in a wider range of colours on www.amazon.co.uk.
~ Appearance ~
The boots have black fabric around the front of the toe and around the heel with big white stitching and then the rest of the boots are made from black fabric with white, purple and green floral print.
The boots lace up, with ribbon, which is made from the same printed fabric.
The heels themselves are also covered with the floral fabric and they are 10cm or 4 inches tall.
I think these boots are really cute.
~ Wearing Abigail's Party ~
The shoe boots are a lot lighter than they look like they would be. The material feels quite thin on them, but they haven't worn at all after a few wears.
The fabric of the lace is quite wide and luckily my 'laces' have never come out their eyelets, but it looks as though it would be tricky to rethread them if the ribbon was to come out of the eyelets.
The eyelets are bigger than usual, but it still looks like a bit of a tight squeeze.
The shoes feel comfortable on and they look great. I find them comfortable to walk in, but after a while of walking or standing the balls of my feet do start to ache a bit, but they certainly aren't the most uncomfortable shoe boots I have worn.
They don't nip or rub at all. The material is quite soft although it is rigid enough for the shoes to keep their shape.
I always make sure I tie bows in these shoes so that the ribbon is quite short and does not trail on the ground.
I don't wear them in the rain or when it is wet as I do worry that the fabric will get dirty or stained, but so far they have remained in excellent condition and they are without any grubby marks.
I have found these shoe boots go really well with a little black dress, but also look good with trousers. They have always attracted positive comments from my friends when I have worn them.
~ Conclusion ~
These shoe boots look great.
They are fairly comfortable, but do start to ache when you have been wearing them for a while, which is something I find with most heels.
I love the design and there are some other colours/prints that I have seen that I would consider purchasing.
I would recommend these shoe boots. I love them.
