“ Brand: Irregular Choice / Type: Court Shoes „
Irregular choice has to be my favourite make of shoes, well one of them anyway!I am a proud owner of these gorgeous shoes. I love them. They completely tranformed a very plain outfit i had for a christening. With some statement jewellery, i was sorted. These shoes are just so comfortable, i wore them all day without the slightest bit of discomfort (unlike some of my shoes). Many people asked me where i got them from and one woman even asked if she could buy them off me! Silly woman, as if i would part with them!! If your thinking of buying these or any irregular choice shoes, then go for it, you will love them!
Now, i am very much a shoes person! And anytime i am invited out it means i have a excuse to order a new par of shoes! on this occasion my boss had arranged for me and the girls from the office to go to the races! I had a black dress I wanted to wear and a purple theme to my accessories! Now it was time to find the shoes! I trailed round and round mainstream shops and couldn't find anything that struck me! Eventually i found them our village shoe shop! Oh the surprise! They were in the window and i had to try them on!
My first worry was they had a suedey, velvety feel so i was concerned about taking them out (what if it rained?!) But i shouldn't of worried! they are very well made and survived the races very well!
The appearence of the shoes does vary from the picture of them on Dooyoo i have to say! The colour of the shoes is not as deep as they look on here, and has more of a pinky tinge, they are a absolutely beautiful colour, which i think goes hand in hand with black or silver! There is a rosette on each shoe made up of little silver sequins, again i worried about these coming off and the shoes looking tatty, but so far they are looking just like new! (think i have worn them about 5 times now)
The price tag is a bit hefty, but you are paying for a really good quality shoe, and i think they are well worth the extra cash! I think they are different enough to make them stunning, but not so "out there" that they are going to go out of fashion in a month!
Another point worth mentioning is the sizes do come up quite small, so bear this in mind if you can't try them on in a shop or you order off the web! But they are very comfortable and didn't rub on my feet at all.
Overall i think its worth a splash out..... you deserve a treat don't you?!
Last month one of my best friends got married, I had a gorgeous dress to wear but it was very plain. I decided I needed to jazz it up a bit and my first thought was a pair of Irregular Choice shoes and matching bag.
I love Irregular Choice shoes, you can always find something a little bit special and different. I decided to go for the Irregular Choice Antique Rose Court Shoes. They cost me £69.99 but worth every penny.
I ordered mine from Amazon and couldn't wait for them to arrive.
The shoes are described as suede but when they came they felt more velvety than suede. The colour is a lovely shade of pink. Its called antique rose but I feel it has a purple hint to it. it's a lovely rich colour.
The heel is approximately 9cm's and is more of a stiletto shape, although a little wider. The heel is the same suede as the rest of the shoe.
The shoe has a small bead of gold piping around the edge, this sets the antique rose of very well. In the main these shoes are quite conservative for Irregular Choice but their crowning glory is the very pretty large sequin rosette attached to the front. This is decorated with coloured sequins, antique rose and gold . They set the rest of the shoe of perfectly.
The inside of the shoe is finished in pink and has the Irregular Choice signature written in blue.
I love these court shoes. They are so elegant and stylish. They are very comfortable to wear and I had no problems having them on all day and evening. They are well balanced and very easy to walk in. But best of all they look fabulous.
Irregular Choice do a black and silver coloured version of this shoe, I have my eye on those too. I would recommend taking a look at the Irregular Choice range if you are looking for something a little bit special.
Definitely a 5 star pair of shoes!
I first spotted these truly beautiful shoes in the window of high-street retailer Schuh, and was instantly smitten by the glamourous and opulent design, especially as the ones that caught my eye were an intense fuschia colour, and appealed to my suppressed girlie side.
The problem was that in reality I am much more of a practical person, and a mumsy sort who lives in comfortable boots and pumps, anything in fact that is safely lacking in the heel department.
So I put these pretty shoes to the back of my mind. Ok well if I'm honest they went on my fantasy shopping list of things I would buy if I had more disposable income, and an exciting event to dress up for.
So when my social whirlwind of a single friend announced her engagement and forthcoming hen night, my mind returned once more to these amazing court shoes, and in an uncharacteristic display of impulse buying I snapped them up online.
While waiting eagerly for them to arrive, I spent much time planning the rest of my outfit around them and when they came a few days later I was dying to try them on and prance about the house in them.
On first impression they almost took my breath away with their stunning design. The upper is made with a beautiful, tactile velvet in a sumptuous hot pink, almost purple colour, and the oversized rosette is a mix of burnished golds and purple, complimenting the shoe perfectly. There is also gold piping along the top edge of the shoe, making the whole effect really pretty.
But unfortunately when I tried them on it all went downhill a bit. As a size 7, that's what I bought but they were too tight everywhere. My foot felt as if it was forced indignantly into the shoe and I was unable to walk in them. Now I am not great in heels at the best of times and rarely wear them, but these ones just did not fit the shape of my foot, regardless of the sizing. I tried on an 8 instore and while they fitted, I had the same problem.
It is very difficult to describe what went wrong, but it felt as though the arch in the shoe was too high up, and therefore did not match, or fit to the natural arch in my foot. As a result my whole foot was forced into an uncomfortable position, meaning I got shooting pains in my legs as soon as I tried to move about in these. I was gutted to say the least as I had truly fallen in love with the Antique Rose shoe.
It certainly gave me an appreciation of the indignity and pain women have suffered throughout history for the sake of fashion!
The heel is 9.5cm and in that respect alone these shoes are quite conservative for Irregular Choice, who specialise in wacky, off the wall designs, most of which I would never wear in a million years even if the opportunity arose. This design is quite classic but still steals the show due to the well-placed and eye-catching flower feature.
They cost around about the £60 mark and have received excellent reviews elsewhere, so I have to admit defeat here and state that it may just be down to my dodgy, clumpy feet that these failed to live up to my expectation (ie a shoe you can actually walk in!)
Sadly these were returned to the store and I have since given up my fantasy shoe shopping, and instead settled for my trusty, reliable and comfy old boots instead. No glamour here after all...
I have given these a rating based on both their aesthetic appeal and my own experience of them, because while they didn't do it for me I still adore their design and they obviously work for other people.
Lets cut to the chase irregular choice shoes wonderfully unusual making the wearer stand out from the crowd. I own many pairs of irregular choice shoes and i adore them. They do not go out of fashion i have a few pairs that i have worn the last couple of summers. People always comment on them they are deffinatly a talking point! They can be dressed up or down depending on you mood, looking especially good with skirts, showing their full glory. To be honest though this pair and many others can not be worn in bad weather due to the material, however you may find they have a water resistant protection. Finally a wonderful part of these shoes is both the box and also the bottom of the shoes. They are decorated in all kinds of thinngs including unicorns, my little ponies and pretty much anything that could be found on programmes such as the magic roundabout!
On first sight of Irregular Choice shoes, you wouldn't be too far off thinking that they'd just stepped out of a Tim Burton film. Which is precisely why I love them!
Founded in 1999 by Danny Sullivan, Irregular Choice is advertised as more than just footwear....'It's a state of mind, a way of being.'
When asked about his inspiration for the line, Danny says that he doesn't know or he's just not quite sure what drives him to create unique shoes. He adds," I love anything creative and original, which is harder and harder to come by these days. But there are still creative people in the world, and I love getting surprised by lots of different walks of life. Inspiration can come from anywhere at any time, and usually from unexpected places."
~Quotes from Danny Sullivan, Irregular Choice Website.
In 2004 Irregular choice expanded and began both a men's line and accessory line. Irregular Choice has proved to be the popular choice with many celebrities, and has graced the insides of some of the biggest named magazines in the world!
The Antique Rose court in particular is one of the more conventional shoe types that Irregular Choice do. With a heel of only 9.5cm it is by no means the highest shoe they do (but thankfully due to a broken foot in the past, this heel is easier for me to deal with than some of the other shoes I have discarded in the wardrobe :-( !!)
With most Irregular Choice shoes the colours are fairly odd/unconventional which can be a problem when you have an outfit in a particular colour, with no shoes to match! But if your like me and wear block colours more often than not, the shoes are ideal to add a bit of wow to your outfit!!
Each shoe usually has an interesting feature, and in this case, its the oversized sequin rosette. The quality of the shoes as a whole is great and the detail on each area is second to none.
Not for the faint-hearted (my mum hates them!) but if your looking for something a bit different, or something to brighten up an otherwise dull outfit.....look no further!! The shoes come in at a range of prices dependant on where you go. I picked most of mine up for around £60 from my local Shuh, although quite expensive, to me...they are an investment!!
I love Irregular Choice shoes!
After my friend bought a pair from Office, I HAD to get a pair. The designs, the styles, everything was perfect!
I went in to have a look at them in Office, however they were around the £60 mark. Was way to pricey for me to buy myself, had to wait til my birthday/xmas came along. However, when I did get a pair I wasn't exactly pleased.
The style of the shoes are gorgeous. With many different styles, it was fun to chose which ones I wanted.
The designs are amazing, and they're the most individual shoes around.
However, when I tried them on, I could feel the pain searing up my legs! They are not comfortable to wear at all. And I was not prepared to pay the price at all after that. Normally, I am an 8 in shoes, but with heels I'm a 7. However, the 8's were slipping off so much I was sure I would have had blisters. If I got the 7, I would have had squashed up feet.
So, although they are gorgeous looking shoes, the price and the sheer pain are not enough for me to buy a pair and torture my feet!
"IRREGULAR BY NAME, IRREGULAR BY NATURE"
Irregular Choice are a flamboyant, British footwear company, who began with a ladies range, which has now expanded to men's, kids, clothing and accessories.
Irregular Choice are not trend or catwalk led - The shoes are designed to be original and unconventional. The focus is often on unique and interesting detail, unusual design and vibrant colour.
The women's collection launched in 1999, and around 100 pairs of shoes make up the collection each season. Boots, flats and heels are always well represented. As a high heel lover I'm usually drawn to this part of the collection - and I often find a lot of the other styles far too garish and ugly. I think Irregular Choice really succeed with some of their girly styles - think flowers, bows and charms.
The shoes in the picture - Antique Rose Courts - are a great example of the kind of stylish, unique shoes available. These are made from a soft suede, with a really large sequined rose. They are well made, so the 9.5 cm heel high isn't too painful. These come in Navy, Purple and Black, and must be a top seller as they keep coming back season after season. There are also some lovely bar courts on offer this season. I've also had some lovely flats - I had some pink leather pumps covered in poodles which I loved - they sound a bit crazy but were actually so wearable and versatile - I wish I could get another pair. These shoes aren't exactly suitable for heavy wear - they are decorative and lovely - and best for nights out, or once in a while wear. Saying that the materials used are all of great quality.
On the other hand some of the other shoes are too outrageous for me - Toes and Heels are often funny shapes, so I be careful to take advantage of the 360 degree view when checking out shoes on the website. If you want to see some of the crazy ugly shoes on offer check out the 'sock o clock' shoe on the website at the moment - they are hard to describe - but are a big chunky fabric heel boot, made to look like sandals worn with contrasting socks - very strange - and quite frankly vile! I suggest a visit to the website if you are interested in fashion just to get a look at some of the crazy designs.
Other Stuff ...
Irregular choice also have a men's range (since 2004) - these are less extreme than the ladies shoes, as you'd expect from men's fashion - but there are still some unusual choices available. The 'Babeez' range is absolutely beautiful - these have become a top baby present for me - I do love baby shoes! Really nice boys and girls choices are available. Irregular Choice have also branched out to clothing and accessories - but I've only seen these items on their website - so can't really comment on the quality of these bits - If the shoes are anything to go by I'm sure it's pretty good.
I so so love Heatherette, so was so excited when I heard they were collaborating. I was a bit disappointed with the offerings - and didn't buy anything - but I suppose I should have expected some unique designs with these two collaborating. Irregular Choice do collaborate with designers, so check out the website for the latest.
