Irregular Choice Once In Love Heel

If you have read some of my other shoe reviews you will know that I am quite a big fan of Irregular choice shoes. Irregular choice are a brand of shoes that offer something a bit different and unique looking, usually their shoes are fun and funky with the use of bold vibrant colours and quirky little extra touches. This Irregular Choice 'once in love heel' is by far the quirkiest shoes I own from their range.

In general, there is a lot going on in this shoe, no-one could call this boring but all the quirky touches combine to make a great looking pair of shoes. Probably, the first thing that you notice about these shoes is the rather large floral design placed on the front. It is made from the same material and fabric floral pattern that covers a lot of the shoe. It is a purple/blue /pink floral pattern that I think is lovely, with purple extra touches like the ruffle over the sandals heel section.

The heel of this shoe is completely different to every other shoe I own. It is almost like it has been cut into slices and then the slices have been put back into place without being properly assembled. It reminds me for some reason of Lego being stuck together. Irregular Choice probably best describes the heel as an 'architectural wooden wedge heel'design.

These are surprisingly comfortable to wear, they do begin to pinch towards the end of the night but the chunky heel and strap make them far more comfortable than some of my other pairs of heels. The lovely orange interior also has a little bit of padding to help make wearing these again that bit more comfortable. The orange interior is also made of velvet for that little touch of luxury and it feels nice to wear.

As with all of the Irregular Choice shoes I own, the soles of these have also been given a lovely floral pattern in more pinky shades. That just adds a flash of extra colour while you strut around in these. I like the attention to detail that Irregular Choice pay to their shoes, there isn't one little surface of this shoe that is boring or bland.

I have had quite a few compliments when I go out wearing these shoes. However, I find that it is a bit of a love or hate reaction, they hubby doesn't think these are particularly that nice, while I have friends that love them. These shoes have also been a bit of a talking point.

These are not cheap, as they typically retail for around £90. However, it is worth keeping an eye out for bargains or sales, at Amazon (as of date of review) they are selling these in certain sizes for £53. I really like these shoes, personally, I think that they were worth every last penny.

If it were possible I would give these more than five out of five stars. Sadly, since the weather has moved into winter I don't get as many opportunities to wear these lovely sandals but they are still among my favourites.

Just as a little side note. I do wear these shoes as evening wear, but I probably wear them more as summer sandals for any occasion and I think they look great with a pair of jeans through the day. You can buy Irregular Choice Women's Dance the Night Away Heel, which are a very similar design to these, but are all in black and are maybe a bit more suited for dressier occasions depending on your personal preferences or the occasion. The heel isn't as quirky and chunky but they are on my wish list.
