I have an unhealthy obsession with Irregular Choice shoes. I love their creative and unique designs and I love pretty shoes in general.
~About Irregular Choice ~
Irregular Choice is a brand that was created in 1999 by London born, Dan Sullivan to offer something new and different to the footwear market, like no other brand has managed.
The website, www.irregularchoice.com is one of the most viewed websites worldwide, most likely because of the demand for something original.
~ Price and availability ~
Summer Bucket is a design by Irregular Choice that is available in red, black or green.
I have the red version.
They are available from www.amazon.co.uk , where they currently have these in limited sizes for just £26.25 with free delivery, which is unbelievable value. It think I paid about £40.00 for mine, which is again a good deal, but a bit annoying that they now have my size at £26.25, which is just about the lowest price I have seen any Irregular Choice shoes!
The recommended retail price is £74.99.
~ Appearance ~
These shoes are round toe court shoes with pretty Perspex heels.
The heel is quite thick and it is clear with a red colour which is more intense towards the top of the heel. I call them 'glass heels'. The heels are 10cm in height. There is a leaf pattern on the actual heel and the bottom of the heel is white.
If you look closely at the heel you can see nails sticking into the top of it, where the heel is attached to the actual shoe, but this is not something people would notice when you wear them.
The shoes are made from a suede like material and have a pattern embroidered on top them in white, which is made to look like lace with little flowers in blue white and turquoise also embroidered onto the shoes. When I ordered these shoes I thought they were made from fabric and the lace pattern was printed onto the fabric.
The lace pattern is on the tip of the toe and there is more near the edge of the front of the shoe and on the heel.
~ Comfort and my findings ~
I have worn these shoes a few times, usually for casual pub meals out with friends or my other half.
I have worn them with skirts and jeans and they matched well, but I think, being red, they can be quite difficult to find an outfit for. With jeans or thick black tights they look quite casual, but they look a bit brighter and more summery with bare legs and a nice summery skirt or dress.
I didn't like the black ones as much as the Perspex heel was tinged black too, which I thought looked a bit boring compared to the pretty, twinkling, red Perspex heel that these shoes have.
The design is quite busy, but they are very cute and pretty and always attract compliments from friends.
I have lots of Irregular Choice shoes with the Perspex heel and I think it is pretty and makes the shoes a real talking point, but I'd say these shoes are less dressy than a lot of the other Irregular Choice shoes in my collection.
I like the design of these shoes. The embroidery is pretty.
The heels aren't so high that they are difficult to walk in and I find them quite comfortable, although they do start to ache after wearing them to stand or walk for longer periods, but this is something I find with most heels.
They look and feel like they are good quality and the soles and heels are still in good condition after a few wears.
~ Conclusion ~
I think these shoes are really pretty and I am glad that I bought them in red.
They are quite summery and the design is really cute. I think they are quite comfortable and they don't rub at all, but do start to hurt the balls of your feet when you've been walking or standing in them for a while.
I think these shoes are great value and I am glad to have them in my collection.
