A lovely pair of shoes for work or home

My wardrobe consists of a whole range of shoes in all different styles which I have been adding to for years. My collection is vast but they mainly consist of towering high heels which I love to wear. However, being pregnant heels are not always the best choice and even though I have been wearing flats I do still like to wear my heels.

I wanted to find a shoe with a low heel and smart enough for work. Of course it goes without saying that I wanted something comfortable and made well. I'm more than happy to pay more for good quality and know my shoes are actually going to last more than a few months.

About two months ago I had an email from the Kurt Geiger website advising of all the new styles and existing styles that they currently have. A pair which caught my eye was Dandy. They were a big unique looking compared to all the flashy court shoes but best of all they had a much smaller heel.

      What KG say about Dandy:

"KG by Kurt Geiger Dandy is a leather round toe court with a mid size structured heel. With its cut out section detail to the heel and its beautiful decorative fabric laces all adding to the distinctive design, show off this piece this A/W and wear with a jumpsuit rolled up just above the ankle by day or with your favourite dress by night. Fabulous!"

Dandy is available in either black or peach and I opted for the black as they would be far more suitable for work. Dandy have a round toe which has plenty of wriggle room for your toes which is great as I hate my foot feeling cramped especially when I do so many hours at work. The shoe has a lovely thick black ribbon which is laced up through the middle of the shoe. The gold metal eyelets are rectangular in shape and really stand out on the black shoe. The ribbon is secured at the ends by a piece of metal wrapped round the end so no fraying will happen and it makes it easy to lace up the shoes should the ribbon come out.

My favourite part of the shoe is the heel as it has the cut out section which goes right around the heel. It gives the shoe some much needed detail without being over the top and still smart enough to wear with a suit for the office! The cut out section is still quite rigid which is good as without the extra support around the heel I did wonder whether the leather that is left could collapse easily but so far mine are still quite sturdy.

The shoes are of course made of good quality leather which softens up just enough for them to become supple around your feet. The lining is also made of leather which again is nice and soft. It is black leather which obviously matches the shoes well. There is a little padding in both the heel and footbed which is ideal if your on your feet for long periods of time. The heel is a lot wider than a stiletto heel which again provides a bit more comfort when walking in these shoes. The heel is around 60mm which is a lot lower than most of my shoes and I have to say they are lovely to walk in!

Dandy have really come to my rescue as apart from looking a bit quirky and unique adding a bit of detail to my standard office suit. They are an ideal shoe for running around the office in! They are incredibly comfortable and have never rubbed me which is obviously a good thing! What I do like about Dandy is that they are not too narrow and even though I have normal sized feet some shoes are made too narrow but these give plenty of room.

Dandy are available from the KG for Kurt Geiger range and can be purchased at most Kurt Geiger retailers both online or in store (John Lewis, Debenhams). They currently cost £95.00 which I think is great value for a pair of shoes made to such a high quality.

Yes, the price tag is a bit expensive but they are comfortable, very well made and ideal for both work and at home. They were exactly what I was looking for as I didn't want or couldn't cope with wearing towering heels for the day!
